i know this is pathetic i want to do this but i have a 88 firebird with a 2.8l 5 speed and a 90 with a 3.1l auto, can i put the 3.1 in the 88 and still keep the stick?

so there will be no problems, just drop the motor and change the computer, i wont have any tranni problems later on will i?

Nope, you don't even have to change the computers just swap the motor keep the stock intake and all that.

Also, a high mileage tranny and low mileage motor don't mix.

As long as the trans has less miles it should be fine.
One more thing use your 3.1 fuel rail wen you do this swap.
