ZZ4 with Complete HSR !?! HELP!
Ok, so my 350 TPI decided to chuck a rod through the block. BOOOOO!!
Anyway, my cuz has a built ZZ4 but he had a blower on it b4, blower warped form heat and is useless and cant use it. Motor is compelte cept intake and above. Better cam then the ZZ4 and it has WORLD racing heads, port and polished. Strong motor with about 400HP or around there.
I dont have enough money to get the motor and the complete HSR system which is about 2500 bucks. So i was thinkin to make the motor a carb motor, i have the intake and a good carb to feed the motor. This was the original combination b4 the supercharger and it ran low 12's in his 86 Monte SS.
I was wondering how and what will i need to leave alone if i make it a carb so i can later on put the HSR system on, do i need the original harness, cuz it comes with the new PROM. which fuel pressure regulator will work best for the carb. Any info will be appreciated so i can get my *** back on the road as spring hits here in NY. So i can start the ***** diet again.
Or, should i barrow some money from my parents and get the HSR complete system right away and just swap that in first time in. If i do that, whats involved here, what do i need and what i dont need, vacum lines and connections?
Thanx you all..now im out.

It'll take tuning, but can't you use the original harness, and ECM? All you need is the HSR base, plenum, AFPR, and Fuel rails. That comes out to about $550. Then add price of motor, and tuning.
You don't need the whol EFI setup, just the manifold, AFPR and fuel rail kit.

Wasn't refering to anything else but the HSR setup.
If you have a TPI then you only need to spend about $550 to get the HSR on your car. As long as all the TPI electronics are still there.

Oh yeah, i forgot i got 22 pound injectors, i can get just the HSR intake for now and hook everything up, but wont i need 24 or bigger injectors to run good, it is a 400 horse motor. But what about the mas airflow sensor, thats gonna limit the motor even more, can i get rid of it( i wish) or how hard is speed density to hook up, or i may just carb it with a 750 i have and rip em...

The MAF won't limit you that much. Its not something I'd be worrying about. There are guys running quick times with a MAF system. Plus, the MAF system will be more tolerant to changes in the engine for now.

Well if thats what you know how to do, and you don't have to pass emissions then I'd go carb.
The HSR will flow as much as the 750cfm carb though, however it WILL need tuning as it will give the stock computer fits.

But i donno, carb is looking good now, maybe ill swap down the road again.
