hey, i need some help.
i just dropped a 2.8 out of an 85 firebird into my 88 camaro. i go to put the belt on and even with the tensioner lifted all the way, the belt still wont fit, any ideas? i can try to put a pic up if that will help.

Are you routing the belt on in the right direction? Are you sure you have the correct length belt? Is your tensioner shot?

i switched everything off the 88 motor and put it one the 85. the 85 had multiple belts, with a locked up air pump, so i decided to switch everything over to the single belt I had on the 88. i was trying to use the same belt off the 88, but its like 2-3 inches short. The belt is routed in the correct way, unless it wasn't before, or something was installed wrong before. either way, as long as everything is secured, and nothing is in the way, i can just buy a longer belt, right? thanx
