Looking To Put a 350 Crate Motor in 89 IROC - Need Help
I just bought an 89 IROC and the previous owner took off the TPI and put on a carb. He stated it ran better but it doesn't run that well. Should I just put a 350 crate motor in it or find a TPI and rebuild the original L98. I'm not looking for hp as my 16 year old daughter will drive it.

There isn't much difference between the L98 and the typical crate engine.
First thing I'd do is go over what the previous owner did to convert it to carb to make sure they did it right. Some more details regarding what's on it now would help in that regard. For instance, what kind of distributor does it have on it? What did he do about fuel delivery?
