v8 into a v8 header question

We want to swap in a built 350 that has an edelbrock intake and holley 650.
the car came with a 305 tbi.
what headers do most use for this kind of swap? do you use the existing exhaust or make a dual style?
also, any electrical issues other than ignition or ac that would need to be addressed?
thanks

Re: v8 into a v8 header question

If you're trying to see which headers/catback are suitable for your particular engine, we'll need more info on what "built 350" means... that's pretty vague. However, I can say that the stock exhaust is restrictive to about any 350 you could possibly be putting into it.

Re: v8 into a v8 header question

if you're looking to go with shorties, i'd recommend the SLP 1 3/4" primary headers that i have. they fit pretty well (need a little clearancing of the steering shaft) and are some of the larger diameter shorties available for these cars. They're big enough to not shroud the D ports on the LT1 I just swapped in.

No D-ports on World Sportsman II heads.

Have you noticed that SLP no longer sells headers for our cars, and most of the exhaust stuff they do have is on clearance?

"Comp Cam", "Edelbrock intake", and "TRW forged pistons" (which don't exist anymore) are not very descriptive. There is a bunch of wiggle room within each of those categories.

Hooker 2055HKR and cat-back for '86-'90 TPI single cat application (with a piece of pipe where the federally-required cat would normally go) will most likely support that engine very well, while mounting in the stock location.
