my question is that i have the pressure pipe of the power steering pump equipped with a type of switch or sensor connected with 2 wires!!

what is that for??? because the switch or ?? is leaking oil and as i have also the pipe broken and also leaking i was going to make one locally because i dont know which pipe i have to order as i saw several part numbers and not sure which one to buy as none of them mentioned the switch or sensor!!!

my car has a p/s pump from an 88 tbi 305 bird which also had that electrical plug.
I got a hose for an 87 tpi car and fit just like the old one.
I don't know what kind of eng. setup ur using, but that should give you some
kind of help.

Low pressure switch. If you have A/C it could be the switch that opens the circuit to the compressor clutch when the power steering pressure gets low. A throttle kicker switch was also installed on some vehicles that raises the idle speed when the pressure gets low.

my motor is a 350 tbi and it has the mount for the ac compressor but my car has no a/c and no compressor!!

so should i change my power steering pump to a normal pipe and no low pressure switches?

dont forget that originally my car was a v6

if you are sure

next week will fix the problem

thanks

The switch either went in-line to the compressor or to the ECM to bump idle. You're using neither now and can replace it with a hose without the switch. If the parts store can't pull a switchless hose up for your model try a 85 or earlier carbed V8.
