How much HP/TQ to get mid-low 12s??

I was originally planning a 383 SuperRam...pushing about 450HP...now this HAS to get me low 12s...maybe 11s?? But Really my goal is low 12s.....sure I would like to go faster...but then I started reading that a beefed up 10bolt is only good for about 400HP..and even then..thats pushing it...would it be possible to run low 12s on a stock rearend...and have it last? I really dont want to pay over $2000 for a Strange 12bolt. Will a 355 get me in the low 12s? By the way..im thinking of running a SuperRam....AFR 195cc street heads, LT4 HOtcam, SLP 1 3/4" headers. Any ideas? Thanks

Oh and think I can get away with a modified TPI system (AS&M Tpi runners, ported plenum, etc). A superram is only a few hundred more than a modified TPI system....what should i go for?

first thing you need to do is tell what your cars weight is, if you don't know weigh it and find out. the lighter the car the less HP you need to run a given et or speed. you also have to allow for traction problems, it's be best to shoot for a good 60' time and the ets will fall in line.

A stock 9 bolt (as long as it is not worn out) will hold up just fine and cost less than 1/2 a 12 bolt or 9 inch. Mine has held up good with 1.7x 60 ft times.

I have all the parts you need including new carriers and gear sets to 4.10.

Currently installing 3.73's into my 9 bolt (YES, it is a 9 bolt & YES they are 3.73's, not 3.70. I currently have 4.10 gear sets and new series 3 carriers in stock for 9 bolts )
