Have a ´87 Formula w/Automatic.

Swapped from 5.0 LG4 (H) to L03 (E) TBI including all wiring.
L03 was out of a ´91 Firebird with manual gear and we swapped all to automatic transmission.

I am using now a Dynamic EFI EBL (latest version, xdf 32 and F_2016 bin) instead of the original ECM.

Now I have the problem that the ignition always turns to late by pressing down the pedal (in idle with and without est connected and also in higher rpm with or without EBL) and the engine is running rough. Exhaust has black carbon (= too rich).

Fuel pressure is at 13 PSI, MAP approx 48.

Bob told me to change the wiring from the pick up coil to the ignition modul. Tried it but without a change. Everytime I press the pedal down the ignition is changed to "Late".

Changed EBL, all sensors are new and are working well including pick up coil, ignition coil, esc modul.

Initial timing is 0 degrees BTDC.

VE Learn (EGR and CCP disabled and plugged) hasn´t give any change.

Anybody got experiences or an idea ?


GOOD NEWS (09/01/2010) :

I think I found the problem. First I cleaned the spark plugs with a brush and the O2-Sensor with compressed air because of the carbon deposits.

Then I checked my TBI (because BLM was 108 = too rich) and I found one injector back off 180 degrees (nose not in the notch ! Maybe cause a little leak and the electrical connection was reversed, too).

And I changed the distributor cap with a AC Delco one.

Now the car runs fine but I have to make a VE Learn with the EBL ECM. Thereafter I hope I will be a lucky man :-)
