I have a 92 Camaro convertible has a TPI motor. The motor went bad can i take the motor out of the Chevy truck with the TBI set up. Can I take the tbi intake off and put my tpi intake on it will all the intake bolt holes will line up? The motor in my car is a 305 and the motor out of the truck is a 350 will it work for me. If you swap the heads too, yes. If you don't swap heads, it may not. Check the center bolts on the intake manifold on both. If they are at the same angle on both engines, then it should swap over. Although those truck TBI heads won't work well with the TPI intake setup as far as flow goes. You may have some compatibility issues between the truck engine cam and the camaro's ECM as well.

 

LO5 engines are not vortec, so the intake will bolt up fine. Read over the basic 305 to 350 swap threads

 

I wasn't even considering vortec heads. I was thinking center-bolt vs perimeter-bolt heads.

 

86 was the change over. His 92 TPI will bolt up fine
