Vortec Swap - 1984 Camaro with A/C

I bought a nice low mileage remanufactured 5.7 Vortec.

It has the water pump with attached accessory still on it. I'd love to use them it if possible. Trying to keep costs down so used parts might suit me best. The stock serp setup looks bulky to me, hoping there are better options with the bracketry avail too.

1) My A/C is a vebelt. Is my only option to bypass/remove or is there a v-belt/serp combo setup out there? It wa san Arizona car so I think the a/c had work done to it but who knows. It's bulky so I may pull it out down the road unless I like it this summer Do they create too much dreaded heat with these hot engines?

2) The water pump is a reverse flow. No big deal right? Stock thermostat is fine with reverse flow?

3) Waterpump bypass..This pump has 2 snouts on top. I am NOT running to my heater core, not sure what condition it's in. Are they hard to replace? What should I do here because drilling holes in the thermostat housing seems to get mixed reviews as being insufficient.

4) Should I just by a reverse flow laste 90's truck fan and clutch?

I have the summit vortec carb intake ready to install.2 water port holes up front. How should I plumb this puppy.

I need someone with wiring skills to help me wire in electric water pump, fan and fuel pump too with return line too. The rear has the cutout to get to the tank easily, previous had replaced the sending unit. I'm afraid I'd blow myself up by adding an in tank pump so leaning towards externally mounted. Is in the tank that difficult really??

Sorry for the long post but as you can see I am looking for some insight. I have done a lot of reading but I'm still a bit confused on best path forward. I might put my old vbelt setup back on as it's the least expensive path.

The multi ribbed "serpentine" setup uses a reverse rotation water pump and it is driven with the back side of the belt and turns CCW when looking at the front of the engine.
The standard v belt setup turns the WP CW. You cannot mix and match parts from both systems or you will be running hot for sure.

Use the WP that goes with your 84 accessories. Or, COMPLETELY change over to the serpentine system.

As said, no mix & match. One or the other, in total.

You'll find it MUCH easier to keep the 84 stuff. Works fine, keeps the engine as cool as it needs to be kept.

To add to what Sofa said, with the v belt setup it is much easier to remove items you no longer want - air injection pump, A/C.
