I've got a roller right now looking to put a 355 smbc in it. I also don't have a transmission yet was thinking about going with a th 350. I'm just looking for it to be a cruiser. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated as it is my first project. Thanks

 

sounds like a good plan-t700 would also work well and easy to find

 

hold out for a 700R-4

 

If you want a cruiser dont downgrade to a TH350 go for a 700r4 or a manual 5 or 6 speed.
Don't use a flat tappet cam only roller
I would go efi and skip the carb in the end you will get a nice cruiser
