Hooker Headers and Hooker Catback

Hey

As u all probley know I am going to be getting Hooker Headers with the Hooker Catback system for my cars exhaust. I love the sound of the Hooker it sounds mean. I just want to know a bit more about them. Stuff like how they fit on our cars. If anyone has had any problems at all with the Hooker stuff I am getting. Just tell me stuff that I should know about the exhaust that I plan on getting.

Thank you

I don't have the hooker exhaust, but I plan on getting full hooker when i get the $ hopefully this summer. I haven't heard anyone saying they had problems with hooker.

P.S. Last they told me(awhile back, may have changed by now though...) hooker 2055 headers, coated, direct from JET-HOT is like 480$ I think... just thought I'd let ya know.

I remember the exhaust shop saying they had to weld a hanger on the pass side for the tail pipes, and I thought someone else said they had to too. If you have to, it won't be much at all $ wise.

Is there anything else people want to tell me about the hooker headers and catback system. I want to get the shorty headers with the Y pipe that comes in the set. Will I be able to get them, I have a 1985 does anyone know if I can get them.

Thanks

i had to get an extra hanger welded-on as well, hrmm.

only "complaint" about the hookers, and it isn't much of one at ALL, is the tips need to be better quality. mine rusted within two WEEKS! in between the pipes it rusted it just sucks :/

Hookers are quiet at idle/low rpm but when you open them up it's bad-***. i'm removing my cat to get some more low-end rumble to the car other than that I am SOOOO empressed with the hooker.

I've had mine for about 4 months and not one sign of rust. Everytime I wash my car, I polish them and they are shinny as hell. I love them. I'm the only 3rd gen around here with the quad tip.

I didn't have the pass side bracket welded on, I just cut the hanger off the factory pipe, drilled 2 holes in it, and bolted it to the bracket that comes on the Hooker tailpipe. I didn't have anything welded and have had no prob for 6 mths and 6k miles so far. The only other thing I did was to put approx 400lbs of weight in the hatch to simulate full travel on the rear suspension, and then adjusted my pipes for that. No rubs at all.

BTW, I love the way it sounds, and I plan on buying the $480 jet-hot coated 2055's to go along with the cat-back when I change the exhaust on my '90.

Why the hell don't they have the proper passenger side hanger anyway?

I just jerry-rigged a hanger, kinda stupid of them not to get the right friggin hanger... Only downside I've discovered to em. My tips aren't rusted, but they aren't bright and shiny either. Just look like regular metal exhaust pipe after a couple years. I still like the quad tips though.

hooker

I put hooker on all my previous owned IROC's and camaro's, sounds the best by far, and through my expreience, I never needed to put the bracket on there, just tighted the tailpipe, then spot welded it in a few spots, and never had a problem of it, sounds great, looks great...could just be me though, but i'm never had a problem with them, and i've done three hooker cat's on my camaro's over the years..
