umm just step in i need help!!!

ok i am getting ready to get my new y pipe made i got my hooker comp headers on (shorties) and i know that hte collecter gaskets that fit are three inch. my question is the guy said that he could make a 3" y pipe but if my collector is 3" then how will this bolt up? will i need a reducer or not? also should i just have the y pipe made long enough to take the place of the cat? i want to get this done soon i am soooo sick of driving around with open headers to damn loud!!!!

No you will not need a reducer and yes it can be made to replace the cat. One question though. Why do you need a 3in y-pipe when a 2.5in one that changes to a 3in. at the point the pipes meet would probably be more than suficient and easier to make?
