cut out question

i used to have a cut out on the car when it was all stock. it was loud as hell, but sounded like a dump truck at low rpms. im considering putting one back on as i have one laying around. i was wondering how, if at all, would the sound change after my mods (cam, headers, 3" exhaust). anyone have sound clips of cutouts on a car with a cam and headers?? also, do you think having it closed causes a big restricition? i mean a short dead end is no good for flow right?

I have a cut out....and I love it. I agree that cut outs do sound like a dump truck when they are wide open.....but when you can tune them to how loud you want....I think they sound great. My engine isn't modded any (5.7 TPI L98).....but I have an electronic plate on it so I can adjust the tone of it buy the flip of a switch......anyone else!???
