SLP Header Q (Please Read)

I'm hoping to get a pair of SLPs, but I already have a problem. The one's I might get from someone are for dual converter cars. My question is, how would I get a good after cat system put in if I don't wanna put cats on? Would I be able to get a shop to weld on another pipe to join the two? Would that be bad? Another thing I was thinkin was to go and get two small mufflers, and attach them after the Ypipe, then add a turn down pipe or something. I'd just like some advice, for I need to decide if I would have any use for dual cat headers, since I'm getting an awesome deal on them. Thanks guys.

most reputable muffler shops wont let u get away with just ONE cat when you NEED two, but then again they might, why not just run true dual exhaust??

True duals was something I really wanted to do a while back, but I decided not to sacrifice any ground clearance. As far as a shop not doin any work, would I be able to do anything? Something like the previously mentioned stuff: puttin on two mufflers right off the Ypipe, then gettin some turndown pipes. Wouldn't that work? Thanks again.

Most shops around here won't work on a car that doesn't have the proper number of cats equipped.
It's a violation of federal law... i.e. it's a felony finable up to 100,000 or so.

The headers are the same whether you have a dual-cat or single-cat exhaust. Its just the y-pipe that is different. You can have them make up a new y-pipe or adapt the dual one into a single setup.

You could also order the single cat y-pipe, install your headers, and drive over to the exhaust shop to have the rest of the exhaust put on. You might be able to get away with that.

I probably won't bother gettin a new Ypipe, or converting the dual into a single. I think the easiest thing would be would to just get two mufflers and put them at the end of the Ypipe. But, since I have hardly any knowledge pertaining to exhaust, I need to know if that will do the trick. I would just like some info on whether or not it will work, and If I'd be holding back any power. Thanks again,

Nate

There's not enough room under there to put a muffler right after the y-pipe. It'll drag on the ground.
