3 1/2 inch single exhaust on Iroc

Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 3:73
3 1/2 inch single exhaust on Iroc
I have a 3 1/2 inch cat back flowmaster system on my 87 Iroc and the exhaust hit the pan hard when the car shiftes is this common with this type of exhaust, if so is there a fix besides a big hammer.

I didn't know anyone made a 3 1/2 for our cars. My Hooker is a 3 and is dimpled slightly in that area to avoid problems.

this happens on fourth gens with LTs on the driver's side, my Y-pipe is dimpled a bit there.
