making 3.4 headers smog-legal
I am putting together a 3.1-3.4 swap for my 91 Camaro (200,000+ miles, so time for a change...)
I can run 3.4 headers with the core swap, but I want to put the 3.1 accessories on it as described in the 2.8-3.4 boogie.
1) I assume I need AIR fitted headers, correct?
2) Any problems in compatability between the 3.4 AIR headers and the 3.1 AIR system?
3) Any other issues that anyone has come accross?

I know with my headers they dident have the AIR stuff on them and a local shop welded all the AIR tubes on for like 100$ so that doesent matter much, unless you cant weld and dont want to spend extra money.

Do you mean headers or exhaust manifolds? If manifolds then just use the one you have. The only headers that will work on these motors are the Pacesetter headers for the 2.8. They are smog legal for the 2.8s but not the 3.1s since the AIR pump won't work without modification or at all.

The 3.4 headers work (same heads) but they do need to be 'massaged' to fit a 3rd gen, since they are designed for the 93-95 Camaro.... I just want it to pass a visual inspection if necessary, since it will be a 93-95 engine in a 91 car.
