Header Identification/Use?

Hi a buddy of mine let me have some chrome shorty headers he had lying around. He doesnt know what its for other than it fits a chevy small block. When I went to test fit it, I realized that the run into the motor mounts. So basically the are useless. Anyone have an idea what they are meant for?

Re: Header Identification/Use?

Probably a 55-57 or an old truck, which didn't even have the side motor mount pads on the block yet, but rather, mounted using the bolt holes on the front that now hold the smog pump and power steering brackets.
