Slp collector gasket?
When I bought my 90 it had from what I can tell SLP header on it. Both of the collector gaskets are leaking. When I went to change them they are not the normal style collector gaskets. Does anybody have the PN for the gasket/ donut that I need? Thanks

Re: Slp collector gasket?
Thanks for the reply. That’s what I was thinking it was I am just not sure which size it needs? I guess I will start with a stock gm donut for the car.

Its an aftermarket deal that slides on the inner Ypipe collector and gets sandwiched. IIRC, it's 2" 1/4 ID. Below is what mine look like.

Re: Slp collector gasket?
Technically, regardless of what the catalogs show, there wasn't a donut in the stock exhaust system. There was a flared ball socket on the driver's side, and an EFE valve or cast iron EFE delete spacer on the passenger's.
It's been years since I had to replace the donut on SLPs, but it's a standard size, and historically common. If I had to make an educated guess, 2.5" is probably pretty close. Assuming you want to have the parts on hand before taking the exhaust apart, I'd either wait to see if someone has a number, or just pick up a couple different sizes and return the ones you don't need. That said, I'd probably just pull the old one, and take it with to match up a replacement.

Re: Slp collector gasket?
I had a set of the SLP headers and y-pipe on my 89 Z28 in the late 90's. I ran an exhaust shop at the time and as I remember they were 2.25 and were a common ford doughnut that we stocked. I never had to replace one though.

It is funny to go to a parts store, have the gasket in-hand to match up, and watch them not have a clue what to do if they can't use their computer to look up the part by application. Went through that a few years ago trying to get these gaskets for SLP headers.

Re: Slp collector gasket?
Try this one it is for a '69 396 y-pipe
They were available in sintered iron or composite material
The SLP y-pipe was 2 1/4 but the end of the pipe was 2 1/2"

Re: Slp collector gasket?
On a related note are the gaskets for Tri-Y's available or they now make your own? 2 hole 4 bolt like below
thanks
found my answer on another thread thanks T-top 350
"Those sure look 100% like SLP tri-Y headers. SLPs are stainless but its a low grade stainless and they do have some carbon in them so they will rust.
Try to wire wheel a rusty spot and see what it looks like.
The only way to do the welded on Ypipe, that I know of, is to cut it off at the welds, coat and re-weld.
FYI, the gaskets are no longer made so you'll have that to deal with when bolting the headers back to the Y pipe."
