WTB: GTA Aero Spoiler BRACKETS
Looking for the U-shape whatever Aero style spoiler for an 85-90 Firebird & GTA. Prefer Flaming Red Metallic but any color is fine. For an 88, but I believe the same on 1987-90 GTA, and most 85-90 'Birds too.
Located in GA
Thanks!

Re: WTB: GTA Aero Spoiler
I recommend getting the fiberglass one that Hawks makes. Folks here directed me to that a few months ago and it did not disappoint. Its much lighter, a perfect fit, and you don't have to worry about it warping or cracking. I'm very happy with mine.

Re: WTB: GTA Aero Spoiler
I bought a wing from hawks Had to do some block sanding to the edges where it wraps around the window and a little sanding to the 3rd brake light to make it fit better. Was expensive with shipping but I thought it was worth the money.

Re: WTB: GTA Aero Spoiler
Update: looking for brackets to mount a spoiler. I have the tabs welded to the glass, but missing some 90 degree angle brackets that go inside the legs of the spoiler and latch into the glass. Anyone have some? My spoiler is missing them.

Re: WTB: GTA Aero Spoiler
The 3d printed part probably will not hold up, there is a lot of load as the rear glass flexes when you open it up. I would mill it out of aluminum. However every factory aero wing I've seen the metal inside the wing has turned to rust and there isn't anything for the tabs to grab a hold of.

We’re not talking about the metal riveted tabs on the glass, just the mounting clips. They are cheap little plastic bits OEM from GM and the 3D printed will be stronger, sturdier and hold up to cracking better.
You definitely do not want to mill from aluminum as that would be metal on metal contact amongst dissimilar metals. You would have noise and squeak as well as wear with frictions and lastly corrosion and rust from aluminum and steel in contact.
GM had it right with the plastic inner spacer to absorb. Just improving that design.
Good looks bud!

Cheaper for this whole box than a couple from GM. Probably the same supplier too.
