Re: Fender Flares on a third gen
For those guys it's obviously easier to just make one than it is to build a world class racing car out of junkyard truck fenders.

Look through that site and you'll see those dated "styling" cues through a lot of them.

Re: Fender Flares on a third gen
i gave up on my first idea. i am going to be doing metal flares welded on most likely some time in the future because my rear quarter fender lips r rusted to hell, and also because my wheels rub the fenders hard when i hit a bump. here is a transmaro with widebody fenders that im going to model mine after. http://www.speedhunters.com/2014/09/...h-cambird-z06/

Re: Fender Flares on a third gen
I was kind of thinking about going with a 4th gen rear end and getting something like this to make the whole car a little wider. Use spacers on the front, might look cool. Any idea if someone has done this?

Re: Fender Flares on a third gen
I really like how the front of the car has the full ground fx but it kind of morphs into the exhaust and goes back to stock toward the back.

I have no idea, something that got posted up on facebook a while back. Someone found it on craigslist.
If you want a little more info, you might find some useful stuff here.

Here's the king of flare kits. It's been for sale for the last two years - started off at 11K or so.

Nice! I thought kit looked familiar. Wasn't a big fan of it before but it looks pretty good on your car, cool thing is, I also have a purple haze 92! It's like a preview of what mine would look like!

I was playing around with some flares and quarters I have lying sround for c3 and c2 corvettes. These are mudflap design c3 front flares. I like the similarity of the fender lip. If I pull a mold and duplicate them, cut off the mudflap design rear and graft them to flow into the original panel they should look good. I'm going to do this on my red 87.
I'm sort of aiming for this
Notice the wheels. I have very similar jongnloeds just 17s. May coat the barrels black

No. They are danko fenders . Slightly modified though to stretch out to 2 inches on each side. My front track width is also 4 inches wider over all

Re: Fender Flares on a third gen
Hopefully, this next year (2016), I'll be underway on my build. ... I drive a truck & am on the road 95% of the year, so my chassis & cage will be done by RaceFab ( Rusk,Tx.).... then off to Hyper Formance in South Carolina. Shelly (Hyper Formance ), will be transforming my 85 TA into my dream/vision. I really don't want to post a picture of it until it's done ( would REALLY **** ME OFF, if someone with more time & money built it before I can! ).

Re: Fender Flares on a third gen
here is my front flares. Didn't want to go with a generic flare even though it looks good on the 2nd gen. Also morrow's fender looks real good too. Tried to keep it looking as "stock" as possible. I cut factory flare from fender but left it attached at the belt line. Flare is pulled out 1 1/4" from fender.
filler panel mimics OE shape and angle pretty well.
The gap behind the wheel opening is from sectioning the fender and moving the wheel opening 5" forward. Also current tire is 275/40R17 on 17x9 w/6"bs. Track day will use 18x10.5 wheels w/7.5 bs and 315/30R18 tires.
