Fiberglass dash restoration.

Fiberglass dash restoration.
I saw someone do a fiberglass dash on here, and I was wondering what supplies I'll need exactly as well as if I should rip all the plastic off the foam or just cut the torn areas fill it with spot putty and then apply the fiberglass. Will be my first time working with fiberglass but I'm pretty confident that if I take my time before starting and get as much information as I can beforehand that I am capable of doing it.

Google "thirdgen fiberglass dash" and all of the posts you're looking for will be the first thing that comes up in the search results.

Re: Fiberglass dash restoration.
Myself and three other members have done threads on making them. It's not hard-just time consuming. Basically you tear off the vinyl stuff that was the original covering and any spots where you tore off the padding fill and sand with expanding foam. Then wet the dash with fiberglass resin (so the mat will adhere to it and not just float above it) then apply the fiberglass mat. Do at least two layers of mat. Apply body filler and block sand. Primer and block sand. Paint.
