Re: 1988 Trans Am with TONS of aftermarket parts

Wow, that hood is a lot rougher condition than I thought. Whatever blew up in your engine bay ruined the paint and caused massive corrosion of the metal hardware. I'm going to pass on the hood. Just not worth the extra cost of the trip.

Re: 1988 Trans Am with TONS of aftermarket parts

That's fine that you are passing on the hood. Yes, the paint under the hood will need to be resprayed. Didn't think this was a big deal since, a) it's under the hood, and b) you have to paint any hood to match anyway. Even if you bought a factory hood with the same paint code, you'd likely need to repaint the hood to match as no two cars' paint is going fade or wear in the same manner once they leave the factory. Also, there's is nothing corroded or wrong with any of the metal hardware on the hood.

It's a big deal if you don't talk about it. Every time you put up more pictures of the car it looks worse and worse.

I have the same intake and Im wondering if you have had heard that there would be any issues with the tranny whining if the tv cable isn't mounted in the right place? I have heard 1"down and 1/2" back, would be able to post a pic to show me where and how you have mounted the cable on the side of the intake?

Yes, I will be selling some of it off for sure. Just about done parting my 02 WS6, and have another 87 TA to take apart beforehand though.

What are you looking for Bob?

I was thinking specifically about his stack of GTA seats. I have some rips in mine. And of course, my elusive Ohio search for a better 85+ TA hood than the one I have.

Thanks

Did you ever decide to sell any of this stuff?

He hasn't gone through it as far as I know. I keep bugging him to give me first "dibs" on some of the items

I haven't heard from @Black00SS in a few weeks. Guess I assumed he's very very busy trying to catch up. Last I heard he at a lot on the auto-hobby plate, and winter is right around the corner, so it makes sense... Hope all is well.

I remember seeing a 700R4 in those pics. Looks like I may need another transmission so I was just wondering what he still has.

Before he bought all this he had several cars he was parting out, plus two (or three, maybe more, lol) project cars. We still text and make fun of that guy selling ripped ultima seats with the mouse poop on them, we did so this morning!
