Wow....5.7 TPI with a 5 speed. Must be fun as hell to drive.
Back in the early 1990's I had an 87 GTA with a 305 and 5 speed and it was fast
Now I have another 87 GTA but it's an auto with the 350 TPI and it's fast
That Formula with a 350 TPI and stick...best of both worlds.

It is ok, not like the car I am replacing it with (ask if you dare). I never thought twice about it, but I took my dad for a drive today and he said it "seemed to run rough" About 2000 miles ago I put all new injectors, new plugs, wires, rotor, cap etc... and it still ran the same. It is a blast to drive tho.

Not my car but it looks exactly like it
Kind of a bitter pill. I am a GM guy thru and thru. But this was hands down more comfortable, more enjoyable than a new Camaro... The new camaro sucked so bad I could not wait to get out of it. This car was a joy to drive.

Re: 1987 Formula - TPI 5 Speed WS6
Honestly I do not know the miles on the motor. I bought it like it is, I cleaned up the interior, fixed several small things with it and my wife drove it for a few summers.
Yes 4 Wheel disc Brakes.
Honestly I am picking up my Mustang in Chicago tomorrow, If you are interested, I would be willing to drive this car over, if you meet me at Fox Ford Lincoln, I would do a change of hands there. I really do not want to bring it back home, so you might get the deal of a lifetime. As much as I love driving the car, it needs a few things, but the body is solid, the underside is solid, It would make an easy project car... PM me if interested. I am probably overly honest, so I will let you know what does and does not work on the car.
The AC worked, I just need to charge it, If I drive it over I would probably do that to save my wife from melting, she is made of sugar.

Last year I drove the 6th gen, Mustang and the Challenger. I actually drove a half dozen Mustangs and looked at dozens of them and I was ready to pull the trigger on one till I drove the Challenger. I felt the most comfortable in the Challenger so I ended up with a loaded Scat Pack with a six speed and I paid a lot more money than I could have buying either the Camaro or the Mustang with similar equipment. People say the Challenger is a slow over weight pig but I love mine.

This is the drivers side floor pan, as you can see it is very solid.

Re: 1987 Formula - TPI 5 Speed WS6
I have a 2014 Mustang GT /w the Roush Phase 3 675hp kit.
Can tell you that you won't be disappointed!
It's insane how smooth these newer cars are with their power.
With the exception of when it's spinning the car feels slower than my ~400hp Cammed 99 TA. So much of the power feedback you get in the older cars doesn't transfer to the driver in the newer ones. Makes it feel so smooth and tame even when you're rocketing 80-140 in seconds.
I'm actually selling mine this week in favor of hunting for a clean third gen to do a LS/t56 swap but I can easily see myself owning another someday.
GLWS and have fun with the new ride

Re: 1987 Formula - TPI 5 Speed WS6
With the Roush I feel like there is a direct connection to the accelerator and the road. I want to go faster I just push, no delay, no lag, It just goes... Very fun... only 700 miles, and I have every possible piece of paper AFAIK, I even have the information from the original holding company for the loan that the Dealership had on the car.
In some ways I prefer the styling of the 2010-2014 over the 2015-2017 Mustangs. But the Roush package looks the way the car should have from Ford IMHO.
The yellow car is still available if anyone is interested.
This is a picture of my new car.

The Roush package really makes it. You definitely did good on that one!
I'd be happier with the 15+ if you could keep the 13/14 rear end/tail lights.
Love your yellow car, it's what I want but too nice of one to buy just to tear up and swap!

Re: 1987 Formula - TPI 5 Speed WS6
This car might be the perfect car for an engine swap, it already has a 350 in it (which is the wrong engine for the car), so installing an LS motor and a 6 speed would be a great upgrade to it. The car is a light custom, notice no door locks (remote entry). The good thing is it is really solid with no rust holes.
Kind of with you on the appearance, I generally like the 2010-2014 slightly better for looks as well, but the Roush package makes the car look 100% better than a regular GT.
