1989 Pontiac Trans Am (LQ9 Swap)
Unfortunately the time has come to sell my Trans Am as I don’t have the time or space to get it to the point where I can enjoy it everyday.
1989 Pontiac Trans Am with a 6.0 liter LQ9 engine swap. The body has 107,091 on it, but the engine has less than 10,000.
Car originally had gray interior, but I had started converting to black. The panels are painted and new carpet installed. Seats are still stock. One door panel has been cut up as I began working on the interior and was looking to reupholster them, but haven't been able to complete it. Fourth gen center console has been put in the car as well.
THINGS IT NEEDS:
The car hasn't really been driven for the last 2 years. I had taken it out on a weekend trip (2-3) hours away and on the way home (in 100+ degree weather), it started stalling out once I got off the highway close to home. I was able to get it home, but kept having to stop to let it cool down. I had a mechanic check it out and he concluded the fuel lines and clutch line were too close to the headers, fan needs to be upgraded, O2 sensors/wiring need to be replaced.
Asking price is $9.500 OBO and the car is located in the Chicago suburbs.

Very nice looking car, and I really like the drivetrain swap. I thought your car looked familiar, and sure enough, I had just favorited your listing on CarGurus the other day.
If it was black, I'd have to give it serious consideration. Good luck!
