1988 Firebird Formula 350- 51K Miles Bright Red $10K
I am offering up for sale my Bright Red 1988 Firebird Formula 350 with only 51K miles. After purchasing it from the second owner 5 years ago, I have realized I just don’t have the time to take it to the shows and cruise nights it deserves. This Formula was never abused and I have made steady improvements to it over the years. I could list everything new or replaced, but if you ask, the answer will probably be - it’s new. Some of the highlights are:
· Go fast options – 350 TPI, 3.27 gear, WS6 Package
· Powder coated wheels factory color matched with new BF Goodrich Comp2s
· New 22lb. injectors, new AC Delco fuel pump (installed the right way), new stainless steel fuel lines.
· Impeccable Medium Beechwood interior. Very clean with new headliner and carpet floor mats.
· Extremely clean underside.
· New AC Delco Brakes w/ stainless steel brake lines.
· New radiator, A/C Condenser, Waterpump
· New torque converter, trans was rebuilt when torque converter installed and “Corvette” servos put in the 700r4 for a nice 2nd gear chirp it you are so inclined.
I could really go on and on about how much work has been put into this car after I purchased it. When I bought it, the Formula was for sale in my grandmother’s 55 and over condo complex. It had sat in a garage since the mid 2000’s after the owners heard “a clunk” from the rear end and feared major repairs. It was their Sunday golf car and the clubs were still in the back when I looked at it. The only issue I could find was a broken rear sway bar link that was clunking on turns. I found maintenance records from the first owner in the rear storage. This car was an impulse buy for me as I had always wanted a Formula 350 after owing many 80’s Camaros, Mustangs, base Firebirds, and 4th gen Firebirds. It was too nice to pass up, especially in the Midwest. It’s not a museum piece, but for the asking price you probably will not find better. If I were to keep it, the only things that bother me are:
· A couple bubbles of mild delamination in the windshield
· Spark plug wires and distributor cap are not factory correct. It’s what was in stock the day I decided to change them.
· One rear seat belt sticks. Have replacements just haven’t installed.
· Parts purchased for r134 A/C conversion. No time to install.
When I do have time to drive it, I am always impressed on how smooth it runs out, but I haven’t even put 1K miles on it in the past 5 years. It’s time for someone who really appreciates these cars to take over and enjoy this great Formula 350. It is only being placed for sale on this site so another third gen fan has a crack at it first. Serious inquires only please. New owner will get everything I have, like the factory stereo and speakers and many other parts. I work odd hours so leave a message or text and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Contact Pat at 801-660-8999 (car is in Illinois 40 miles south of Chicago). $10,000 O.B.O. Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the compliments. The dash is all stock and not painted. Not sure if the beechwood lower dash is a one year only thing.

My 88 Formula had a Carmine red dash. Not sure if it was an 88 only thing.
Beautiful formula by the way!

EXACTLY like that. I wish I could find another dash/seats/rear cargo panels. My dash cracked years ago and I replaced it was a black AC delete dash.
