1991 GTA 5 Speed TTop - $5500

2 boxes of Kleanex later and I've finally wiped my tears away enough to read what I'm typing. I've been acquiring more debt than I'd like to carry at 21 and I need to start being (somewhat) responsible so I've decided to sell the GTA. I put it up on Kijii a few months ago to see if anyone would trade me a fun 4x4 for the winter, but truthfully I wouldn't be able to give the car to someone unless they planned on treating it properly, which is rare, so I'll offer it to you guys. Here's the story,

It's a 305 TPI, 5 speed manual, N10, 3.42, Factory TTop, in Dark Green Metallic. Out of 164 5 speed GTA's, it's apparently one of 5 identical to it in 91.

My dad bought the car somewhere around 2009 and drove it for 2 years until parking it. I always loved it so when I'd go to his place for the weekend I'd jump in and bomb it around the yard, so it never really sat for more than a week or 2. January 2017 he finally let me buy it after it sat in his garage for long enough not being touched, and I got to work bringing it back to life. Since today I've done;

- Fuel Pump/ filter (properly - no hatch)
- Tires
- Front pads/rotors/calipers
- New Exhaust cat back (All stock, no upgrades except flowmaster cats)
- Transmission rebuild
- Valve cover gasket
- New passenger window motor
- All intake gaskets replaced
- All sensors replaced except o2 and knock sensor but they're both operational
- New plugs, wires, ICM
- Delco Starter

Before I owned it, my dad had the Clutch replaced, and apparently has paperwork from the original owner for a motor rebuild in the late 2000's at 330xxxkm, which is where the odometer currently sits as it doesn't work haha.

Cosmetically I've done,

- Floors patched and sealed
- TTop area patched and primer coated with new center bar installed
- Windshield frame patched and primer coated (New windshield installed too with new stripping)
- New ttop seals
- Small patch in driver side shock tower
- Bubbling sanded and primer coated on rear wheel well
- Perfect dash pad from a 91 parts car (automatic light sensor) installed
- Trashed beechwood leather seats replaced with near perfect cloth beechwood interior from an 89 GTA.

As of right now the car drives well. I had an intermittent stalling issue with a code 44, but after replacing the cats I haven't had the issue so I assume that fixed it. There's a slight grind in all gears that was there even after the rebuild, shop said it won't be an issue and hasn't been in the year since the rebuild so?? I'm not a trans expert so that's all I have to say. One Manifold has a slight leak below the motor, not at the heads. Passenger valve cover gasket leaks a bit. Currently has no headliner and both cupholders are broken but probably repairable. Spoiler is cracked.

It drives straight with no weird behavior, even on the highway at 120, but I haven't touched anything suspension related so it's probably soon time for an upgrade. There is a decent dent in the driver door and fender, and a few small spots of surface rust but no holes. Car is very solid and clean underneath. Otherwise the only major issue left to tackle is a fresh paint job which I've been quoted 3500 for and I can have it organized for the buyer. I'm probably forgetting all kinds of work that I've done but I'll update as it comes to mind. I have about 9k in to the car since I took it over, with receipts for almost everything, I'd like to get 5500 CAD for it, which I think is more than reasonable considering I've taken care of most of the major stuff, and similar cars are going for low to mid teens online. I'm open to trades but it needs to be old and cool, or 4x4. As I said, the car is safe in my garage and I'd be willing there to leave it there until spring if the buyer requires storage. Car will come with the original ttop bag, owners manual, ttop shades, replacement driver and passenger door and driver fender (they're from a gunmetal 91 GTA so need to be painted). Let me know if anyone has any questions or wants a specific picture, I'm trying to disclose everything I can possibly think of but I'm sure I've forgotten some minor details. Car is located in Waterdown Ontario, just north of Hamilton.

Seats and carpet looks filthy in the picture but it's just a bad picture, they're quite clean.

Am I priced wrong or something?? It's about $4100 US which I think is well priced for a well optioned, near rust free GTA

Seems like a nice car at a screaming price. I'd love a dark green 5 speed car but you're a long ways away and I have no spot open for it. My guess is just the time of the year. Spring is when people look to buy summertime toys for the most part. Good luck with the sale!

It definitely needs some stuff but I've been driving it all summer, the things it needs are things that get done while you drive. You are definitely a hell of a drive away though haha
