Car: 1989 GTA
Engine: 5.7
Transmission: 700R4
1989 Trans am GTA 5.7L
Clean 1989 black Pontiac Trans Am GTA with T-tops and black leather interior. Analog dashboard without steering wheel stereo controls
In CA Bay Area (San Mateo)
Passed CA smog test in September 2018 and runs great - no leaking and all electronics are working. The car was garaged most of its life and has normal wear and tear such as minor scratches from old ladies' shopping carts and chips from being driven.
Only 2 owners and I kept the car consistently maintained over the past 15 years. It has been a reliable part-time commuter and I've taken many cross-state trips in the car.
Maintenance :
I have strived to keep this car in nearly perfect running condition. Some of the notable maintenance jobs I had done over the past 50,000 miles include:
- Transmission rebuilt
- Head gaskets replaced
- Complete replace of cooling system: hoses, radiator, water pump, thermostat.
- Fuel pump replaced
- EGR valve and wires replaced
- Heater core replaced
- Air conditioning rebuilt
- Fuel injectors replaced
- Sensors (oil, air, coolant) replaced
- Brakes and suspension and new tires < 10,000 miles ago.
- New ECU (computer)
On top of this, normal maintenance such as plugs (and wires), oil change, distributor cap, fuel filter, etc.
Imperfections worth noting:
- The driver and passenger seats have some have tears and rips in them (mostly on the sitting surface), but the rear two seats are fine. (see pics)
- The Rear spoiler and bumper were re-painted and cracked over times (see pics)
- There is some minor leaking through the T-tops during heavy rain. The seals need to be replaced ~ 3 years.
Overall, very clean for a car of this age and gets a lot of attention.
Modifications
Engine and exhaust:
-- Flowmaster muffler and exhaust
-- K&N cold air intake
-- Hypertech cool fan switch
Interior:
After market sounds system
-- Alpine bluetooth/usb stereo
-- 4 Alpine speakers
-- Two 10-inch Alpine Type S subwoofers in trunk
-- Sony and Alpine Amplifiers in trunk
-- Viper alarm system with keyless entry
*Note that the speaker box is easy to remove if you want the trunk space.
$10,000 OBO
Retractable front license plate.
Flowmaster exhaust. Repainted bumper and spoiler
Cracks on Passenger seat. Similar on Driver's
Amps and subwoofers.

Great looking car!
Looks like the front has been spared the front license plate, which is a plus.
I may have to speak with my wife about this car....

Re: 1989 Trans am GTA 5.7L
Sounds good. The front license plate is on one of those retractable holders that folds under the car, so no drilling on the front bumper and you can put the license plate up if you're worried about getting pulled over.
