After a terrible encounter and 8 hours of driving to buy a car I am still looking for a unmolested 1987-1989 trans am gta 350 l98 in almost original excellent-excellent condition. Condition of car is a must. Starlight black, flame red, gun metal grey. NON T TOP car. Also please be realistic on prices. I will not pay you 18k for your 80k mile gta with orange peel paint issues. Just a cool guy looking for a cool car. Someone has to know of one!

Not sure what your actual price range is but 80k for 8k with orange peel issues only isn't to bad of a deal for a GTA. Few hundred more and someone could wet sand and buff the orange peel down for you. Maybe orange peel to you is something other than what I know of it to be. Hawks has a nice low mileage gunmetal grey one for sale, price is kinda steep but seems like something you could be looking for? Gunmetal is the toughest to find, took me a few years to find a low mileage one (62k) and it needed some love. I believe 88-89 had a lot of paint fail issues. Anyways yeah check out the one on hawks, might be a bit steep but seems super nice and I personally think he has it priced well. And here are the color break down production numbers for those colors. I also attached two important RPO codes, one for the number produced AAA (A31 for 87) L98 and CC1 which is the TTOP option, to put things in perspective for you. ALL CREDIT FOR THIS DATA GOES TO THE GTASOURCEPAGE. Also I'm not sure "Starlight Black" was put on third gens that or it was just renamed plain ole black.

What location are you looking in or willing to go? Budget? Mileage? Sounds like you will travel for the right car. I have had a lot of luck with Craigslist in my area (Northeast), there have been some pretty nice cars on there in various kinds of condition.
