VIN is located in a few different places. Look through the windshield on the driver's side dash there will be an alpha numeric number such as 1G1FP21H6HN000000 on a metal plate held on by two rivets. I'll go over what this means later.
Second location will be on the driver's door on a sticker, this is also where your factory tire size and recommended tire pressure can be found.
Third location is under the lid of the center console on a white and black sticker. This sticker also contains your car's RPO codes which will tell you what options you car came with. These stickers are usually gone though so it may not be there.
Last location is on a sticker on the inside of one of the body panels. On my car it was on the driver's side rear quarter panel behind all of the interior trim.
Ok decoding the VIN... this is for a Chevrolet camaro
First digit is location of origin. 1=usa, 2=canada, 3=mexico
2nd - manufacturer - G=General Motors
3rd - Division - 1=chevrolet
4th & 5th - series - FP=camaro sport coupe
6th - body style - 2=2 door hatch back
7th - restraint system (seat belts) - 1=manual belts
8th - engine code - H=LG4 5.0L V8 4BBl
9th - check didgit
10th - model year - H=1987, J=1988, etc.
11th - Assembly plant - N=Norwood, L=Van Nuys
12th to 17th - is the plant sequential number
