isnt a 92 rs a 6?
isnt a 92 camaro RS a 6 cylinder ? im asking because i ran into some old halfdrunk with no teeth guy and he is selling his 92 RS, it looks real nice , just needs a car wash, interior sucks *** but its okay , the engine looks a lil beat up but ne ways, so i asked the guy how much he wants , he said he wants 900, i said its a 6 right , he goes no its a 5.7, i go what? no its a 6, so i poped open the hood and there it was a carb 5.7?, im going to see if i can get pics of it tomorrow, maybe even take it for a spin, so am i wrong, i met a guy who had a 92 rs and he had a 3.1 just like me , engine swap?

If it has a Chevy small block, 9 times outta 10, those who don't know will say its a 350.

If you pop the air cleaner lid off you will see two large injectors mounted over a throttle body. It's not a carb. It's throttle body injection, and is very common on the RS model. The V6 was standard while the L03 305 V8 was the optional engine. That engine puts out about 170 HP, has a very weak cam and heads that can't flow for ****. Ask me how I know, well I drove one for several years until I was able to swap in a TPI 350. The 8th digit in the VIN will be "E" confirming what myself and the other guys here have stated. If you are interested in this car then keep in mind that the only way you are going to get any power out of it is to do some major engine mods, or a complete swap. If it's cheap enough then go for it, but if the owner is stuck on a high dollar figure because he thinks he's got a 350 then walk away.

hm that makes me think twice cdartz, well maybe it was a TBI and not carb, but like you say it wouldnt be worth it, i just got happy since i have a 3.1 , i'll just keep looking and when i have more money see if i can just find me something thats worth getting , and the old man didnt want highdollar, only wanted 900...i really want to get a project car, some old guy at a quick lube wants to show me his 79 T.A he is selling.. im scared to drive it because i know if i fall in love i might just leave with the car and never come back

the 92 camaro rs didnt come equipped at all with a 350. They came with a v6 3.1 or the optional 305 5.0. The 350 came in ur basic z28 which was the 5.7. Personally if you want it as a project car and the body is in good shape i would go for it, 900 bucks ain't bad. If you put some money into it you can get some great power out of it just like i did to my 91 camaro.

I believe 90 was a half production year cause GM wanted to get started with the new look of 91. Took me a while to find my 90 with a V8, 5 speed and t-tops.
