Yellow Formulas

Does anyone know how rare yellow formulas are? I have only ever seen 2, and thought they looked very nice. What year are they (86? 87?). Also I have a very stupid and embarrassing Q...What year did they start making 3rd gen Formulas (86 or 87?).
Thanks.

87 was the only year for the yellow formula i think. Until the 91-92 body. I thave an ad from 87 with a yellow formula on it. I'm going to paint mine that color.

The only stock yellow formulas that I've seen had the grey bottoms and gawdy black decals. They were the most haneous looking formulas I've ever seen. An all yellow formula with grey decals could look really good tho.

I'm not sure about the number of yellow Formulas built during the return year of 1987, but the production figure I have seen for the 1992 Jamaica Yellow Formulas is 41 total.

The total for GTAs built in that same color for 1992 is 14.

Jamaica Yellow? Hmm(!) Ever since seeing a yellow '92 Formula go ripping down the interstate (with me next to him in my '84 just drooling), I've wanted one. Now, since my 16 year old paint is starting to look kind of well,,,, old.... I am considering grafting on a 1992 front clip, and painting my car yellow, with ROH ZS 17 x 9.5 wheels, and an Eibach spring lowering option. My wife's been hearing me mumble about this conversion for about three years now.

I'll probably buy some black graphics and restripe the car, and perhaps even add an ACSD ram-air hood to the mix.

Ahh, we'll see...

Dan go for the 91-92 nose. I think it looks muck more slick than the older style. As far as jamaica Yellow, I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and I too plan on painting my car that color too. I think it may be the only Notchback to be Painted that color. Damn the police are going to LOVE me.
