Car: 1987 Z28 Convertible
Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: 5-speed
I didn't think they produced G92 cars before 89 anyway.
RPO G92 has been in existence as long as third gens have been around, since 1982.
In 1987, 10533 G92 equipped IROC-Z's were produced, but because GM did not keep track of option combinations, there is no way to say how many of these were used with the 5-speed and/or automatic. To put this into perspective, 38889 IROC-Z's were produced, so roughly 25 percent have G92. And for 1987, G92 was available only with the IROC-Z suspension option.
Suffice it to say for 1987, 5-speed G92 cars got the Borg Warner 9-bolt with 3.45 gears. Automatic G92 IROC-Z's got 3.23's on a 10-bolt platform (I own one).
