1992 GTX Firebird Info Needed!!!
We have a 1992 Red Pontiac Firebird GTX. It has all ground effects with the gold snowflake rims from the factory. Wanting to know if it is the same thing as a GTA Transam only with a V-6.
Also have a '91 Firebird GTX with a 305 5 speed.
And a '91 Firebird S/A V-6.
Any info on any of these would be great. We have been searching everywhere. We are in the Tampa Bay area!

I've never heard of a GTX, it was probably a package that a local dealership put together by ordering the cars with the options they wanted and then applying their own graphics to them.

This was an easy way to increase sales, to put a std level car into an upgrade status just by adding a few details, most common was a set of floor mats and some decals.
When you walk into a showroom, and see GTA's, T/A's Formulas, it would be real easy to associate a GTX with these upper level cars. For example somebody who could not quite afford a T/A would be shown the GTX and without knowing any better be happy with that instead. Im sure they also had a considerable dealer markup.
I think its cool that you have an interest in these, you have a nice collection so far!
