I ordered a service manual off the bay and when I called Helminc and they said there was a supplement produced for the convertibles and I am looking to find this supplement I have looked everywhere...any help would be appreciated....thank you....

I've never heard of a shop manual supplement for the convertibles. I'm pretty sure there's convertible information in the normal shop manuals I've got on the shelf. Also I know there's a separate supplement for the owners manual. GM did from time to time issue supplemental information that was supposed to be kept with the manuals, but I've never heard of one specifically for the convertibles.

Understood,I wonder what the guy at Helm was talking about then...because he said there were two books for the convertibles and that the supplement was backordered....I'll call them back for more info...thanks for your help

Keep in mind that the Convertible was a mid year addition in 1991... I want to think that it was released about the time that they normally would have released new MY cars, in Jul or Aug of 1990, but the 1991 MY cars officially started production in Feb of 1990. On a side note SN 100001 thru SN 100013 1991 MY Camaros and SN 200001 thru 200013 1991 MY Firebirds were technically made in October of 1989 as pilot cars, probably for testing of some sort.

Not all of the dealer literature has the convertible information either, so it would make sense that instead of printing an entirely new thick service manual for 1991, they would simply make a supplement...

Its ok... I actually got the shorthand from an Author that is/was writing a book on Firebirds... He was using MY all over the place in his email to me, I was scratching my head probably like you were, then it dawned on me and it made sense... ahhh Model Year... sorry, its my fault because I should have probably defined it...

The reason why I called out Model year, it just clarifies it what it is... For instance, there were no 1990 Camaros made in 1990, they were all made in 1989... Since 1991 is a year and a half of normal production and some sources actually include 1991 production into their data, it can be really confusing... Furthermore in business there is another term called Fiscal Year often abbreviated as FY, to differentiate it from the Calendar Year, that starts on Jan 1 and ends on Dec 31.... Since production often started and ended often on different days each year it would not have made sense to call it a Fiscal year either, and its definitely not a Calendar year... So I now refer to it as MY...

Sorry Its me going crazy... I will digress.

I am almost inclined to suspect that manual may be what you are looking for...

Keep in mind that the models listed that are apparently covered by the manual were converted by ASC, the only one that I am not sure about is the GEO Metro...

From reading the description the manual is more or less for replacing the top,

One thing that confuses me is the cover states 1991, but the description has cars listed thru 1993....
