Re: pictures of stock engine bay
The flat 6-pin over the battery plugs into the fan pigtail harness... I ordered a brand new one from tpiparts.net- the pig tailhas 2 male plugs into the fans, and 2 females plugs for relays.

Re: pictures of stock engine bay
remember this, before "detailing" your engine, your engine had undercoating spray splattered in various places. Your aluminum piping was not polished, Hoses did not shine etc.
Detailing means keeping it clean, shiney and polished is another thing.
Dull finish is what factory correct judging is done on.

Re: pictures of stock engine bay
To Bobby Suth,
Sorry if this is a late reply to your questions. The red wire with inline glass fuse you're talking about could be the underhood lamp. The harness routes above the HVAC box and grounds near the passenger side camber plates. It then runs up through the passenger side hood hinge ,with clips securing it, and continues on the lower passenger side of the hood to the underhood lamp. There were three different harness used for the underhood lamp option. The 1st being the 1982-1986 cars, 2nd being the 1987-1989 cars, and lastly the 1990-1992 cars, which had no miniature inline fuse. The first two harness designs use the miniature fuse and are often difficult to find. Reason being is that most of the time from what I seen, they are yanked out and cut when the hood is removed by someone. Your description fits the underhood lamp harness, and if so all you may be missing is the lamp housing itself with the connector end. Lastly, your description of the two ports on the throttlebody fit the profile of the EVAP and CCV lines. On TPI cars the hose ends are different and they are molded contoured hose. If it's for your 1989 TPI Camaro then it will need the 1988-1992 CCV hose that attaches to the throttle body and goes towards the rear of the passenger side valve cover. 1985-1987 TPI Fbodies had the steel pipe and hose end for the CCV line, 88-92 TPI cars had the rubber hose line. Last, the EVAP had a molded hose end attached to a plastic pipe going towards the charcoal canister. Just like the CCV(Crankcase vent) line, the EVAP line also changed in 1988. So the correct one for your 1989 Camaro would be the 1988-92 TPI EVAP line. One problem is that they are often difficult to find unbroken and they are dried out (cracking), so try finding them on Ebay or your local salvage yard (If they even have these cars, lol). Sorry if this reply is late, and sorry if this is long, lol. Hope this answers your question.

The pictures come out large because they are hosted on another website and people are linking to those pictures. If you are uploading from your computer, you will get the small thumbnail photo. After you upload the pictures, but before you submit the reply, you can right click and copy the picture location. Then click the yellow mountain icon above the text window, paste the link location, and click submit reply. This will put your pictures in the post and also as a thumbnail.

Re: pictures of stock engine bay
I like the breather on the 84 HO car. Guys I have a 91 RS with the 5.0TBI L03,the TBI had cought fire buy P.O. and I'm trying to sort it all out on whats melted and where it all needs to run.Any close ups of a TBI with the air cleaner removed for a better view would help out alot.I also have an 85 S/C project going where I'm taking a v6 body and swaping in a berlineta LG4.So some good shots of a non digital LG4 with aircleaner of would be nice too.

Re: pictures of stock engine bay
I've gone through these posts and I don't see a stock (or nearly stock) LG4 ( carbed V8) without A/C.
Specifically, I'd like to see the routing of the heater hoses.
I've swept the hoses from the firewall to the passenger side strut tower and then to the intake manifold and water pump.
While I don't have an LG4 , I'd still like to see what the OEM version is but I haven't been able to find any pictures.

Where behind the alternator does the plastic hose that runs from the charcoal cannister go to? I just discovered that on a close up of your engine. Never mind. I found where it goes and I now have the plastic hose

That's not your water divertor, that's your A.I.R. diverter. It's missing the plastic cover. And your belt tensioner is aftermarket replacement.

Re: pictures of stock engine bay
I am new to the firebirds and the forum; and I am trying to identify some underhood items. I just picked up a 1989 Firebird Formula, and have no idea on the history (restorations or modifications). First thing i wanted to identify under the hood is the item in this picture that is on the fire wall, and has a bright blue plug going into it. I see this on some cars, and not others. The reason is two fold, as it looks like a PO did some repair work as there is some electrical tape down line and I see on some pictures of cars the performance bar is connected to that spot on the firewall where this part is, and was wondering if that is a useful oiece that it could be bolted up in the same spot. Any help would be appreciated, as I am a new to these 3rd gens (all my experiene is on vintage mustangs). Thanks. Nick

Re: pictures of stock engine bay
I need a little help again. Dig in up bones! Bought a roller 89 rs lo3 that I have to piece together with ur help and pics. I'm going to use a l98 long block with a lo3 intake and throttle body. I'd like to get all the brackets and hoses in the right places. Close ups would help a lot.
