I'm looking at all kinds of 3rd gens out there.My trouble comes in when I look into a engine bay.I don't know what a stock one looks like for different years and engine types.I've got a 89 iroc w/5.7.So for the most part I know that.I fought my way through a basket case 86 bird with a 2.8.still working the bugs out of it.pulled a 305 truck motor out of a 90 camaro and put a 90 bird setup in it.3.4 block and heads with 3.1 supporting parts.I looked at a 84 camaro and it had a v8 with an air breather cover that had 2 outlets.But only one place on the front to conect to.also had a 4bbl.dont know if it's stock or not.I know if its a 350 its not!Post up everything you can.I think it would help alot of people out.I'll try to get more from the other cars up.

Engine bay on 1988 GTA. All stock except the distributor cover is a polished aluminum Corvette type.

Thats some good stuff guys!Clean too!I like seeing the difference from the 85 305 to the 92 350.also the 88gta gives a nice view of the firebird side of the thirdgens.Any carbs and cfi pics out there.I got off late today.Hope to have some v6 pics up soon.

1982 CrossFire Injection in all it's glory! Stock except for the replacement cast iron master cylinder, TH700R4 transmission white dip stick handle(original TH200C is black) and the removed A/C compressor(my winter repair project.)

No, the side runners...and other components like air intake, headers, etc. The upper plenum is all stock.

Actually I never did. I ended up backing down twice tho from cash offers that I even accepted but when it came time to take a deposit or full payment, I couldn't bring myself to do it.

Actually, the issue was there wasn't any IMG tag at all. I fixed the original post.

You need to have a set of [img][/img] tag for each image. The URL of the image goes inside a set of the aforementioned tags.

For example,

You're probably right. We don't show edits until a few minutes after the original has been posted, and you was right there within 1 minute of his post. I didn't look at that until you mentioned it.

Does any one have a pic of the wiring harness by battery (right above the battery looking down) I have a harness all it says on it is 3226 I have to wires that look like oxygen plugs by battery on red and one orange don't know if for battery ( that's what I think it's for) and my factory harness has a plug for the electric fan but I can't find it on the new harness or the plug for the power steering pressure switch any one have this harness or knows what year the harness is would greatly appciate the help

Those single pin cylindrical connectors are 12v + battery power for the fans.

mantaguy.I see your crusecontrol cable and another running over the top of the upper plenum.my 89 camaro runs through it between upper and lower.What year did they change the route?looks good!

The cruise and throttle cable go over the runners and the trans TV cable goes under the runners.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this thread!!! Thank you to all of you contributing. I'll post some pics myself tomorrow.... 2 specific questions to all of you with the 305 TPI(maybe 350?)... 1- the 2 smaller hoses on the throttle body, what size and which/where do these go? [a picture of this would be worth a $k....... 2- I have a wire loom that has a red wire, starts near the coil, goes pass side, and has a tiny sized glass bus fuse, then continues on to the front battery area, picking up a small gauge black ground wire. WHERE DOES THIS RED WIRE END? right now its just clipped...

The larger hose on the TB is the fresh air supply for the PCV (goes to the right valve cover), the smaller hose is the inlet from the vapour canister.

A wire in the engine compartment with a glass fuse is not stock.

I think someone had something hooked up and ran the red wire to the battery and installed a fuse on it.

Thank you both very much for your help! Assessment of the wire is is probably correct. Previous owner made a mess of spaghetti under the hood... been keeping tpiparts.net wiring catalog in business...lol.
