Awesome car!! Love that color / stripe combo, especially on a vert. What I'd give for those extra gatorback tires

Re: Seeking some low miles, all original, "Reference Cars".
We had a lot of rain lately and all signs of road salt have been washed away until the next snow. I got the 86 out and drove her around the neighborhood some for about an hour. Covered about 10 miles, but was never over 3 miles from our home. Took a few new pictures of features on the car that have not been shared before. The car is original except for some hoses, belts, tires, and battery. The engine still has the original spark plugs in it. The only mod the car has undergone is installation of a re-worked Monsoon HU which plays perfectly through the Performance Sound Amp. I have the OE HU which could be re-installed at any time. The sub-woofers have been updated and the 4 x 6 speakers have been updated. The current mileage is 30,600. The body is original except for the exterior blue paint which was resprayed due to the water based clear coat turning yellow. There is no body work and the silver part is original. The decals are reproductions by Phoenix Graphics. We live just outside of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in NC, so enjoy the back drop.

It IS for sale BTW! Search classified section for 1984 Camaro for sale in Kentucky. All details there. Let me know if interested! This car is truly an original that's showcar quality and I'm wanting to move to another vehicle that can be a fun Sunday driver for a family of 5.

I will be looking for a 305 H.O. '84 Z28 now though. I fell in love with that nose and that cluster. May sound kind of weird.

While the miles are still under 50K ... my 89 is mostly original with pretty much all documentation from the dealer if anybody has a question.

Close-up of the speedo? I have the 88-89 ones have different number font on the odometer than 87 and earlier. I pulled one out of an 86 to replace the 115 in my 88 and it's not right.

It's a 305 .... You could'nt get a 350 with a 5 speed.

Re: Seeking some low miles, all original, "Reference Cars".
my 88 has 34k and is stock except, roll bar, TT2's (have originals with original brand of tires on them and a set of BFG's no longer made, like new) and a flowmaster cat back, its a stainless one, before flowmaster was completely crap. if felt my car would be applicable to the thread I will post pictures, but it does not sound nor look like it fits the criteria

Re: Seeking some low miles, all original, "Reference Cars".
Hi,
I recently acquired a 1992 RS Convert with 11,000 original miles. Beautiful condition and nothing has been touched on the car. Please let me know if anyone needs specific pics of anything stock/factory and I will try to post. I should be taking pics of the car in a few weeks when the weather is nice and I will post them. Car is green with tan interior and top. I am looking forward to learning and hopefully contributing to the forum. Thanks.

Re: Seeking some low miles, all original, "Reference Cars".
I'd submit my car, I've had it since it had just under 30k miles. But it's not photo ready (not clean and I don' t have the WS6 caps on front, and not 100% original (though close) - I added the engine displacement decal to the rear, and the interior isn't 100% either - it now has a Kenwood stereo because the stock one gave up the ghost and I have to install the WS6 badge that didn't come on the dash panel from the factory. So NOT quite stock.

I would normally agree but at this point at the cars age, it adds to the documentation and history of the car. It would also be help to have the period correct dealer key chains, tag, etc. along with all other factory documentation. Due to the age of the car, the paint may also be slightly faded around the dealer sticker/emblem.

Re: Seeking some low miles, all original, "Reference Cars".
One my blue and silver 86 TA, the dealer, (Harry's on the Hill) Harry's Pontiac in Asheville NC did not have a chance to put the dealer name on the back of the car. The original owner bought it on a Saturday morning as an impulse buy. The car had been delivered on Friday afternoon. The lack of a dealer tag is part if this car's history.
On my 82, the Baker Pontiac, Princeton, NJ dealer plate will always have a place on the car as long as I own it. For one thing the dealer punched holes in the bumper and the dealer name is actually a chrome plated metal tag. I have the original buyer's agreement from this dealer, so the plate actually adds documentation to this car. The plate is a big part of this car's history, and should remain in place as it has for 32 years.

And if the dealer is a cool one on a newer car I don't care if they stay on... Because gear heads work at dealer ships and I want them to have jobs.

I agree ..... the more documentation the better and the paint thing. I also used to have the same additude about dealer licence frames and free advertisment.... but as these cars age it adds documentation.

I haven't seen one like mine yet on this thread. A simple 87 Camaro SC 305 Auto bone stock and original, except for an aftermarket radio. 21K original miles.

The sad part with the hundreds of thousands of SCs built, is that they were all used up. By the time they got to the 3rd or 4th or 5th owner, they had 250,000 miles on them, were in primer and were sporting a mystery junkyard "350". Shortly after that, they'd usually meet the crusher.

Re: Seeking some low miles, all original, "Reference Cars".
I don't get on here very much but I will add mine. The car is 100% original. I still have the production line battery and oil filter somewhere in the garage. I thought I had lost the battery about 15 years ago but found it again out in the shed a few years ago. When I bought the car I also bought another set of tires and wheels. I haven't driven it enough to replace the tires. I have all the documentation for the car. I did have to replace the serpentine belt but I kept the original. Somewhere I have the front license plate bracket but never installed it even though my state requires a front plate.
Here are few shots I have on my computer. Maybe this summer I will try to photograph everything and do some documentation.
Replacement oil filter I bought back in '88. The production line filter I have was painted over when the block was painted at the factory.
Spare tires and wheels
Tire sticker

Fantastic car! Maybe I should have kept my original oil filter. I remember that I cut it open to examine the filter element for any metal particles.

Finally got a fresh pic of our 1992 Polo Green Z03.
Car is all original, and just under 17,000 miles. We are the second owners, and are fortunate to have the original window sticker and all the interior accessories that came with the car too.

Ha! Thanks for the compliment!! I searched for four years to find that car in that type of condition... And took over six months of negotiating to get it. I passed on many cars before buying it, I wanted one that looked as good underneath as up top without any restoration ever being done on it. I have many of hours into detailing it (the previous owner did too) but I love the way it looks. It would be tough for me to replicate it and the 92 if I had to.
