It's not 3rd Gen specific, but I've always liked RPO V75.

Re: What are some odd or little-used RPO codes for F-Bodies?
I'd like to see some real documentation of a Camaro with RPO XWL. Aside from the fact that the earliest source I know of for that quote is the Camaro Technical Database, which dates back to 1995 (at least), and is chock full of confused "facts" and errors, I've yet to see any other reliable reference or day I say "Proof" that such a thing ever existed. We know beyond a doubt that the 18 gallon tank, special swinging fuel pickup, etc is complete BS, but yet this one document that has been copied and pasted countless times on multiple forums, blogs, magazine articles, and Wikipedia claims they existed.
XWL doesn't show up in any list of RPO codes I've ever seen. The parts catalogs show that some wheels were stamped with X?? broadcast codes for identification, but "XWL" isn't listed in the catalogs under either the Camaro or the Firebird that I can find.
XWL looks an awful lot like someone making up a code or abbreviation... X = crosslace, W = Wheel, L = Lightweight.
So to recap, the original source is dubious. There doesn't appear to be any supporting documentation that hasn't been copied from the original source. Is there any reason not to strike down the XWL wheels as a myth until better documentation suggests otherwise?

XWL is more a tire code than a wheel code. Most, if not all, wheel codes started with either N or P.
X is usually front tire codes, Y is rear tire codes and Z is spare tire codes for the most part.
(Not a know it all, just been studying RPO codes for 25 years is all.)

Review this thread for examples of wheels with X-- codes. Keep in mind these aren't RPO codes, they're broadcast codes, used on the assembly line to ensure the car was built correctly.
I guess I should have checked the Parts & Illustration Catalog earlier... I missed this before because I was looking under 91-92 instead of 1988. Here it is in black and white. Brace yourselves...
XWL is a normal 88-90 16" Iroc wheel.
So much for mythological lightweight wheels.

Sadly, the internet has become a haven for manure spreaders.
Got in to it with a couple of manure spreaders, one that claims he has a 1991 Pontiac Turbo Grand Prix (made in 1989-90 only) and another that claims that his grandaddy's uncle's cousin's friend's monkey's dog had a factory 1985 Chevrolet C10 with a TBI 350 (TBI 350 wasn't offered until 1987 on the trucks). I could go on. hah!
And of course when asked for proof, they clammed up. Won't post any proof, just say "I haz 1 so ur wrong!"
And unfortunately, there are those gullible enough to believe it and spread it around more and more.

None of these are rare but they're unusual and have been used for a few years only.
VD6 = aluminium front bumper
WS1, WS3, WS5, WS8 = price reduction options packages
N91 = wire wheel covers...yuk, unusual for a reason
