NOS Recaro seats. Really, what are they Worth?

I was able to aquire a set of black Leather Recaros from the 80s. They are dated 1985, but are not directly for our cars. They are almost identical to the style in the 82-84/85-86 cars (Years had different bolsters), with minor differences. I have the box for one seat, the 2nd was too far gone. The driver's seat has a scrap in the left bolster. Small differences are that they didnt come with the oem seat rail adapters, no seat belt guides, slightly different stitch pattern in the back foam/ different shaped "more square" adjustable leg bolster, and lastly the gear to adjust the seat just a different style. The only thing I can find to compare to these are the GTS 2 seats that go for (if i remember correctly) around $1500, and the occasional beat the hell used sets that go for $500 usually. Also there is several nice redone seats/seat covers on ebay, and they are asking close to or over $1000. So really how do I price these? They are most likey the last of id say a handfull of new, era correct, recaros left. I added some oem seat rail adapters, since I have a whole bunch of them. I want to be fair with selling these but, also dont want to lose out with the potential these have. My car needs parts too lol!

Nice seats but since they are not the exact ones that went into the early Birds, they dont have as much value. But they do have some value. You have to factor in if someone bought them and wanted to redo them to look correct it would take some $$. Price them at what you feel you need and see if you get any offers. Comes down to supply and demand. You may get other potential buyers advertising them on sites for other types of cars.

If they where nos directly from a 82-86 car I would want alot more. I been thinking $1500 for them as you cannot get anything like them for less than that. To redo them would be stupid unless that was like that persons goal. To get a beat up set redone it would cost around there alone. Probably more with real leather like these. I have nos fabric that im using on my nos 85-86 seats to change from tan to black and that fabric cost me $600 alone! If you could get some black leather 4th gen rear seats they could probably match up with these.

They're worth whatever the buyer and seller can agree on. You know what you paid for them. Ebay value is probably the highest you'll find anywhere since it'd give the widest audience and highest chance of starting a bidding war.

Seeing as how they're an aftermarket seat, they're not really "correct" for any thirdgen. By extension, you have to compete with the $200 a pair race seats from China, or the $800/pair GTS II's. Unless you find someone specifically looking for those exact seats (30 year old Recaros in black leather) I would think you're facing a tough market.

I don't think you're off the scale in crazy territory at $1500 for the pair. It's more than I'd pay personally, but I don't think it's a terribly unfair asking price. It just might take awhile to find a buyer.

http://corbeau.com/gts-ii.html. The leather GTS 2 seats are 1200 plus extras if you want them. The only real bolster difference with mine vs oem is the leg adjuster. The seat belt guides are $30 new (They are off 70s cars, which is weird). Id just got to find that guy who wants new like oem I suppose.

I have a similar pair to those, but the cloth version in my 73 TA. Is the scratch on the side that would be against the console or on the side that faces the door?

Not sure what you are looking for price wise but I may be interested. Shoot me a PM with your thoughts.
