Fun 3-ish hours at ThirdGen Expo, until we had to cut it short to beat the storm. Got the car in the garage minutes before all hell broke loose! About 55 cars today. I wish I had more time to check them all out and say hi to everyone. More pictures being posted here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1146399832043000/

I finally know the exact date of manufacture for my car. 5/23/1989. It was a Tuesday. Or at least when the IP was completed and tested.

Possibly close but not a solid conclusion as I'd imagine the time between the test and the build date could vary case by case. Looking at Leonard's 1992 Camaro, his IP test sticker shows 8/18 which is approximately 8-9 days (8/26-8/27) prior to the build date of the car.

I guess you pulled the dashpad for the first time today haha!

I found mine but the date and time make no sense. I found a sticker/tag on my original radio that had a Dec 14th 1988 date. I'd love to find her actual build date.

88:55, Damn thats a really long day.......

Did earlier cars have those too? I know my dash pad was out of my 87 back in 1994 ish,but back then I would have thought nothing of a sticker like that. So not sure if it would still be there.
Would they be in the Pontiacs as well?

So upon further research, based in the VIN and info I uncovered on this site, I believe my car was manufactured Wed., May 31st, and was the third to last car assembled in May.

Also put in an NOS Delco brake light switch last weekend. Hopefully the new one lasts 30 years like the original one did.

Re: My 1989, G92, 5 speed, N10, DX3, IROC-Z

Ordered a set of Dove Gray ACC mats for my black '89. The original mats are mint, but alas, the rubber backs have turned to tar. Here how the OEMs compare to ACC. Pretty close. Gray is slightly different, but even my factory ones were a shade off between front driver side and passenger side. The factory ones are boxed up and put away, in case MCACN ever features 1989. Oh, the ACC ones have those little rubber spikes on the backs where the OEM ones don't. If I'm not mistaken, ACC used Scott Moyer's mats as a pattern. OEMs on top.

I might get a couple of GM rubber emblems and paint them gray and glue them on.

Re: My 1989, G92, 5 speed, N10, DX3, IROC-Z

I put the ACC 877 Dove grays in my 89 T/A a few years back. They seemed to fit decent, but were a little flat rather than formed to the floor. Also the gray was darker than the cars carpet, but the original mats were gone already when I bought the car. Not a bad fit thought.

Thanks for the comparison pictures.

It takes a bit to form fit to the passenger side exhaust hump.

I think i want to keep them. I am an NCRS 67 Judge so i know how some parts for some cars are just not able to be found. I'll keep you in mind if i do one day decide to let them go. I appreciate this forum for it's tech help as i have been trying to get my 88 IROC up and running after it's been sitting for 10 years (in an air conditioned garage thankfully)....ARA
