CRAZINESS... Dealer priced IROC @ $49,900
Now I know we all love our IROCs, and there's another thread about over priced cars but I think this one takes the Win!
It has to be a misprint...Its in Alberta Canada

And the tires are not original. I called about this car when I was looking at the one I bought in January. It was the closest comparable to mine (condition, mileage). Spoke to a sales guy and just for fun I said if I knew the final price would end up around $40 I would drive down and take a look. I was told the owner had already turned down an offer of $43,000, then another offer of $45,00 and this guy came with an enclosed trailer to take it home. I wonder what the dealership paid for it and how much profit they are trying to make? Sure made me happy paying $16 for mine.

The sales guy I spoke to agreed the vehicle was overpriced. He said for some reason the owner of the dealership isnt budging too much on the price.....he was blown away when an offer of $45g didnt buy it.

I can't say that the price is too out of line if the car is something special.
Now, hear me out on this. I was told that my car is in the low $30k range with it's mileage, history, etc two years ago. The general public will not think that, but collectors do. This car is optioned the same as mine, so it had a $21k window sticker when new, and isn't far from new with 3400 miles on it. A $45k Canadian offer is equivalent to $36k US.
As to the tires, I wouldn't want the original tires on the car. My current tires are 8.5 years old and I found a small chunk of rubber missing from the center of the tread just yesterday! Tires mean nothing, just like the battery means nothing.
Hagerty.com evaluates the 1987 IROC-Z 350 with TTops in concourse condition at $34.5k. If the seller is trying to increase the market value of these cars, this car, with it's mileage and condition, could be considered concourse and isn't too out of line. His price is slightly high, but if someone does buy at his price, he just improved the market for low mile cars.
