18,000 mile 85 Sport Coupe
This is the cleanest Sport Coupe I have seen in forever. Also well optioned with the upgraded interior and t tops. Only 18k on the odometer. He has the original wheels also.

Hi there,
Very nice looking SC. I think $10,000 is a bit optimistic, on the seller's part. You can get a nice IROC-Z for that kind of money. Offer $5K, split the difference, and have a really nice SC. After that, replace the rad overflow tank and washer tank with new ones, a little engine bay detailing, and that car will look mint! For peanuts!

Nice SC! Wheels have to go in the dumpster, though.

That's pretty slick. Power windows, power locks, and the high end interior. Seems a bit odd they didn't spring for the full instrumentation dash.
I'd expect an 85 to have the single bar tail lights. Looks "off" with the unpainted lights.

You only got the painted lights if you had a Z28 or IROC.

Re: 18,000 mile 85 Sport Coupe
After checking my notes and what materials I can find, it looks like the Sport Coupe didn't get the single horizontal black bar tail lights until 1986. I would have assumed GM would start using up the old stock in 85 when the Z28 switched to the grid style lights. Guess I mentally grouped the 85 with the rest of the 86 styling changes.
There's not a terrible lot of info out there on the Camaro Sport Coupe for 85. The motion blurred photo in the 85 brochure appears to show the plain tails. Judging from the focus on the third brake light and tail lights in the 86 brochure, it looks like the plain lights are correct for 85, wrong for 86.

I think I understand what you were getting at, but for the benefit of others who might not... The Z28 only had the single horizontal black bar tail lights 82-84, from 85-up they all had the grid style tail lights, along with all the Irocs, and 91-92 RS Camaros. GM used the single horizontal black bar tail lights on all Camaros from 86-90 that weren't at least a Z28, except the Berlinetta with it's Gold stripes.

Why noy pay 10 grand! I mean that's probably max dollar but we keep low balling our beloved 3rd gens. I like the plain Jane look. How many super low mile SC's are out there!? Overall, nice color and interior is clean. I definitely would trash those wheels and go with a basic all black iroc rim.
