Re: 1989 IROC 344 original miles

There is a reason the car set a world record for a base 1989 5.7 IROC.

Re: 1989 IROC 344 original miles

I was hoping to see a smoking gun. I wanted to see pics that proved there was no paint work. My concern was the paint overspray on the bottom edge of the drivers side drip rail, the tail light seal, and the edges of the fuel door. The pic you sent of the drip rail area on the "real" car still looks to have paint on the bottom end of it. Let me show you...

There should not be body color here

Heres the pic of the "real car" zoomed in. I still see paint on the drip rail. This pic was taken a lot farther back

This is paint on the tail light seal. The pic of the "real car" doesnt even show under the edge of the rear quarter....so this area is completely hidden in the pic

This is my 22k mile car. See what i mean about zero body color on the drip rail?

JT,

I am 55 years old. and if I tell you something you best darn well know I am past the point where I embellish. Further I call it as I see it. if I pissed on someone sorry. But I took way more than I gave.

If I tell you something take it to the bank I can back it up. If there was better moderation we would have never got here. That is undeniable.

Phil, you cannot blame moderation or anyone else for your own behavior. Your behavior is what led this thread down this path. It's your name.

JT,

My name is just fine. know this I started an out reach to you guys two years ago. Wealthy collectors told me I was wasting my time with you guys and that you guys would just go and burn me.

Well perhaps they were right. My daddy told me "son give em enough rope and they will hang them selves"

Guys it is not like I did not try to warn you...you should have known that big claims will get backed up. that is just the way it works.. It is not bragging if it is true.

You just can't help some people.

BTW, you wrongly lashed out at dagwood. You're the one that needed to pay attention. He posted the picture of the "fake" taillight with a circle saying that area is not visible in your recently supplied picture - and he's right. He didn't mix them up.

I would Lock it down and clean it up so the board can get on with its business. I am not really sure If I want to stick around here or not? Time will tell, it is not like there is a shortage of forums that you can waste time at..but I was really trying to help the owners here. oh well that's life.

No he circled the bottom of the pillar molding on the real car. That is silly.

Are these comparable pics?

I wanted to see THIS angle where you can see the overspray on the seal, under the lip of the quarter

And this is the response. You cant even see where the overspray would be. It does not show under the edge at all.

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. The drip rail pic is way farther back and still appears to have flame red paint on the drip rail and you call that silly, lol

Nothing has been proven otherwise at all. I was on board with you proving everyone wrong...including myself....

Your "smoking gun" would be an UP CLOSE pic of the drip rail bottom edge, fuel door edge, and the tail light seal. That would convince EVERYONE.

You are correct. I circled the bottom end of the molding that appears to have red paint on it when you zoom in on it. Don't call it silly....LOOK AT IT.

Which would in fact match the so called "fake" car.

Well Gentlemen There is a measurable % of the population that believes in Bigfoot, UFO's and the men never landed on the Moon Myth.

I am not trying to convince you. You will believe what you want. But for the purposes of anyone thinking I flipped a repainted car that was misrepresented at the Barrett-Jackson-- that ship sailed about 45 minutes ago for good with 99% of the people reading this.

The taillight picture he circled of the "fake" photo was to tell you that specific area was not clear in the picture you recently provided. Moving onto the molding by the door, he also circled the area on your recent picture showing a trace of red. I don't call it silly. I see some trace of red on the molding myself.

That's fine with me. Guys my age are watching this thread They are appalled at the conduct here.

The Bashing must stop however along with the name calling. We are way past that point now. It needs to stop if it does not I will need to explain to you exactly why it will cause much bigger issues down the road. Drop me a PM if you want.

Thanks for the help but there is no bulge in the rubber therefore it is a different tail light all together.

The angle I asked for would prove that without a doubt.....because the pics you posted sure do look like the same tail light.

Maybe someone could clean the Vaseline off the camera's lens and try again with the focus set right.

Crazy. Crazy. Crazy.

I think we could have saved 6 or 7 pages of craziness if Phil would have just said: "Wow, didn't even notice that". I believe that would have been that. Instead we have a $h!tshow of insanity, excuses, accusations and insults.

I believe the poor guy who took the pics to show his IROC-Z page members a beautiful car with an undisclosed/unknown secret at BJ, will eventually come to say his piece here.

Same here. Still think it's an awesome car, too. Like I said several pages upthread, no car is perfect.

This thread however, has transcended the actual car.

This guy says that he is 55 years old but he acts like a 12 year old, this has become really embarrassing for him. In my opinion, the drip rail picture not only shows some red discoloration at the bottom tip, but also some slight scuffing where other red discoloration may have been removed. Absolutely no one is jealous of you or the car and I'm sure everybody is tired of your threats. At this point who really cares about the car or the paint, this whole thread has become a joke. Lets be clear, all of this bull has been about a 1989 chevy that's sole claim to fame is that the original owner never used it. This car is not the first of anything, last of anything, no special edition or features, it is just unused. I have an 88 that i bought new in 87, i love the car more than my vette or 6 figure street rod, but in the end it's just a late 80s chevy that is 1 of many thousands built. Great, the car sold for $34,000, maybe that will help all of the guys who have 400 mile 30 year old cars sitting in the garage. I don't see it having much of an effect on those that have 40, 50, 60 thousand or more on the clock. You found a low mileage car that you flipped. Somebody claimed the car was touched up. All you had to do was say that is not my car, i know it, the new owner knows it and Barrett Jackson knows it, period end of story.

Re: 1989 IROC 344 original miles

Phil, the pictures you posted are the same car that came from FB. The taillight photo that you can't seem to get a picture correctly of has a small scratch in the black about an inch down from the top. It's in both pictures, only the FB pictures are super clear and with a flash. You can see the comparison in dagwood's post just above.

The upper door molding photo that you said has a wear mark is present in your picture also, but looks more like a reflection. I'd say that both are a reflection. The white line that is parallel to the molding that you posted an arrow to is the reflection of an overhead light, not a scratch.

The residue that you speak of is seen in one photo with with lots of light reflection all over the pic. It's either residue or dust accumulation from being wiped down. Nobody has said anything about the car having dust or residue on it being an issue of concern.

Your arguments about the fake pics can all be explained, except the paint we see on the molding. Nobody has said a word about the dust and lint.

BTW, your taillight photo shows nothing of the molding to show no bulge. I don't see a smoking gun.

There are many people here, in this discussion, that are of similar age, so mentioning your age means nothing.

Re: 1989 IROC 344 original miles

This thing reminds me of a bar fight I was in 35 years ago. Two guys jumped me I knocked the first out cold and pinned the second until the police got there. Waitress says “man your face is a mess” I said in reply yea but what about the other two. They are in cuffs headed to jail. She proceeded to get me a couple of band aids and buy me a drink. The two guys I got the best of protested all the way to the back seat of the cop car telling everyone that I started the fight despite the eyewitnesses accounts that the police had gathered.

You see the losers always believe someone else is to blame when they loose. Members of this forum decided to pick a fight with me on this thread and instead of moderating the moderator joined the mob attacking me.

Do not blame me for letting it play out...I warned you several times to stop, and have you exits yo allow the foolish to save face.

Oh one more thing, Scott recall the article that ran in Hemmings on your car. I recommended that piece and we got you the ink. I was here to promote this forum. Now look where this ended up. SAD.

SAD.
WHAT?

Well the juvenile replies continue.

Things that are truths:

Winners win.

loosers loose

The foolish continue to be foolish.

For the foolish 1 percent no bar of evidence will be good enough because it is not about the truth. The “Get Phil” let’s troll him agenda continues.

See this: this is me officiating at the Hemmings CONCOURS d'ELEGANCE.

See what is not there. Third Gen cars. I was working to change that. Crap thrown at me here will not win you guys any favors with the decision makers. Think before you post.

What a blast from my past, i love it. I used to have a 1982 fleetwood brougham 2 door in dark blue, fantastic car with a horrible engine. Thanks for the memory.
