Finally a decent price for a decent car?

Blue, tpi 5speed, charcoal interior. That is a great car. Might be a repray but it still has all the right stuff. If that was near me I would be checking it for sure.

What do you mean that it's "probably" a respray? It's very apparent that it's a respray with the overspray all over it! Without knowing more about it, a car with 106k miles, the price could be low, it could be high. Someone needs to look at it and find out what's being hidden. I don't understand how people can advertise the car as a investment/show car when it's not even detailed.

Re: Finally a decent price for a decent car?
Yikes..
I mean.. any car can go to a cruise night and IROCs do turn heads, but this is no show quality paint job..
Looks like a car that looks nice from across the street but I can only assume the texture of that paint up close, in person is not so hot..
Also in an ad where the seller says “It’s worth $16,500 but I’ll sell it to you for $8200” you have to wonder “why the discount?”
It is a desireable combination, metallic blue, 5-speed, TPI, gray deluxe 87 interior.. but it has issues.
In my experience these cars start having a lot of issues around 100k as well.. You’d have to see how well it was maintained. By 100k there would have to be oil leaks addressed, front end, brakes, clutch, exhaust, etc.. Usually stuff like the trunk pull down will stop working..
Was the car ever hit? How rusty is the underside?
I have a feeling upon close inspection $8200 might seem high..

"Decent" LOL. Nice overspray.
Also, who's the appraiser? A buddy who said it's worth $xx,xxx? Where's the written report, and why not present copy?

Re: Finally a decent price for a decent car?
If this car was all original with original paint and meticulously kept even with the miles it would be over $10k
It’s a desireable car and 100k miles for a 31 year old car is only 3225 Miles/year..
If it was garaged winter and had no rust and needed nothing with no accidents and clean carfax one owner, etc it could go $12-14k

Re: Finally a decent price for a decent car?
I kinda chuckled at the 16k appraised thing also, lol! I should ask him who gave him that number and have mine checked out! But yea, obviously the repaint isn't great. But if i was looking, (actually I'm always looking, but i can't put that kind of cash out right now), I'd definitely go look at it. That's why i posted it. Very desirable car. And if it's clean and solid might be worth close to his asking price. Most people are a little more flexible when you got a handful of Benjamins in front of them.
