It’s that time of year... I know in the past, some pretty spectacular 3rd gens have been? Including the last Norwood Camaro. What can be expected this weekend at www.mcacn.com ?
I’m flying to O’hare to see the show. It’ll be the tenth year of this event.

I'll be there Saturday with a group of guys.
There was supposed to be a 3rd gen display of mint, low mile, original cars. Not sure what's up with that right now.

Thats really funny
I had a car at the mcacn inaugural show in 2008. I found out later that a bunch of members from from a Pontiac forum I have been a part of for nearly 20 years went through. I was there for 3 days & I wondered how many avatar names I walked right past & had no way of knowing. A bright colored t shirt is probably the only thing that would have worked. Such a huge show & so many people. I need to get down there again. Its been at least 5 years. I hope to have my 68 GTO finished for the show next year, but we will see........ Hard to believe it's the 10 year anniversary already. Bob & the crew do an amazing job!

I’m headed to the airport now.
Black slacks, black shirt. No name tag though.
If if I see anyone by a 3rd gen though, I’ll say hello.
Looking forward to Barn Finds section, most of all.

I met Bob in Green Bay when the mcacn was an inception turning into a show. He was telling me about it in a brief conversation. I ended up at his event & he remembered the car I brought & the conversation we had in Green bay. He is no doubt a 100% car guy & his passion is the foundation of why this show works so well.
He does prefer his Dodges over most others though.......

I usually wear sweatpants and a car event Tshirt of some kind. Kinda look homeless but I'm comfy and ready for any large buffet I find. lol
Maybe I'll put a piece of tape on my shirt with TTOP350 on it.
Safe travels

There was supposed to be a display organized by I believe CPC Norwood this year, of about a half dozen or so low mile, original, 3rd gens.

You guys may think I'm insane, but I loved this '79 Century Turbo Coupe. The owner races it in Pure Stock Drags with a best of 15.9 seconds. I told him when he gets tired of it to give me a call.

Thats really cool. In recent years I find myself looking the obscure cars with far more fascination than the common ones in nicer condition.
That under hood looks untouched, was it all original? Never saw one like that.

After MCACN, we were fortunate enough to be invited to my friend's warehouse, where they unveiled the newly rebuilt Hemi Under Glass, which he just purchased. He fired it up. LOUD does not even come close to the sound of that Hemi!!!
Thanks Joe and Dan!

Apparently the 3rd gen display has been postponed until next year. Only three cars were confirmed this year and they'd like to have more like 8 or 9.

Here is the thread I started asking about the possibility of putting together a showcase. The Idea died this year from a lack of interest on the part of people wanting to display.
In short nobody wanted to go.

It's funny. You go to MCACN and spend 8 or 10 hours there. You can only really check out so many cars and chat with only so many people. Then you see the FB pics of the show and think, darn, I should have looked at that car closer or tried to talk to it's owner a bit. The show is so good and so large, you can only take in so much.
