I looked 20+ years to find my car.....

I looked 20+ years to find my car without ever seeing one like it. Not a single one. It's an absolutely impossible color combo to find. And, last night...I found another one. This is more along the lines of what I expected to find in the first place. Now I'm tempted to buy this one as well. It's an identical twin to my car. It's down south, has no rust, no dents, has the console clock, and that 1 year only maroon interior. He's supposed to be sending me more pics tomorrow. I can buy it for $1,150 but I'd have to have it shipped here......its 1,000 miles away... It's all original, and it's all there... I'm anxiously awaiting for the additional pics. It'd be cool to have a daily driver that's identical to my good car. I'm a painter at a body shop, so that end is covered.

Hard to believe it looked like this at one time...

Man...I am seriously thinking about it. He's going to send me the vin tomorrow, too. Why can't the thing be an hour away instead of 16? Lol

It would be cool to have twins.... How many more will come along if you have been looking for 20 years for this one, and at $1150.....?

What a cool find. Your car has an awesome color combo. I hope everything works out so you can save this one and have a twin.

You can only drive one at a time. What's the point in having two of the same thing? Variety is the spice of life.

I’m seeing ~15hrs to the Peach State. You can do your own paint as stated, which is huge, and probably a lot of the surface rust. The engine and tranny “work”...that leaves only one question: do ya have a car trailer? :P

Contact GM Media Archives and get the original invoice. It will tell you what dealer the car was originally sold through.

Got some deets on this worth sharing:

GM offers copies of the vehicle invoice which would have the information you are interested in.

GM charges a fee of $50.00 for the invoice.

If you are interested, you can either call the Vehicle Invoice Collection at 734-261-5086 or you can email them at vehicleinvoice@gmmediaarchive.com

So, have you bought this yet?

I had a similar one several years ago, but it was an '84 with the charcoal stripes and interior. Another member here has it now.

The silver/charcoal with red striping is a fantastic combo btw!

Haven't done anything yet. It's just soooooo far away... I'm still kicking it around.

And thanks for the compliment on my color combo!
