Very nice car, but what exactly do you do with it? Do you put it in the climate controlled garage withe the Ferraris and Bugattis, no. Do you drive it, no. Do you put it in a museum, no, who the hell is going to pay to see a 1991 camaro? I guess you throw a car cover on it and wait 30 years. I think i would rather have a 40,000 mile car i can drive now.

I think I'd drive it. Not a lot, but I'd drive it around a bit, get my new car feel fix and put it away for next time. 100 miles or 1,000, wouldn't bother me.

Wow.. pretty cool..
It would be cool to see what it’s like to drive it.. you could drive it 100 miles, put it away and maybe even make a profit on it in a few years..
at what mileage would the price start dropping? 2000? 5000?

Like I had said earlier about the 344 mile IROC....if money was no object, it'd be awesome to fly out to buy the car, and DRIVE IT HOME. And doing a big, smokey burnout as I was leaving, lol. It's no fun to sit and look at it!

This car was offered to a collector friend of mine several months ago for $24,000 - I think he should have bought it, but he passed on it
because he did not care for the color combo - I see no room to flip this car if it just sold for $35K so maybe the FB chatter you are seeing is old news?

that the info you are seeing on FB has not been updated to reflect the recent sale at BJ

Maybe the BJ buyer is suffering a bit of buyer's remorse after sobering up? When the glitz and glamour of placing the high bid under the lights, the thrill of the chase wears off, you've got a car that you can't drive... Maybe the BJ buyer just found out he paid a premium for "just brakes" and now he regrets the buy. Maybe Mrs BJ Buyer laid down the law that the Camaro had to go or he'd be buying ALL his BJs from now on.
The possibilities are endless, but it's fun to speculate.

I can confirm this is correct, the person that bought it on Sunday has it for sale already......as I said before, cars like this
play musical chairs between collectors, seems like this one is continually moving around, not sure if anyone is MAKING any money.
I'm told the seller (from the BJ auction) actually LOST $$$ at BJ on Sunday......crazy !!

If you can't laugh at the Barret-Jackson culture of putting the Ebay bidding war on cable, what can you laugh at?
I mean we build these cars up, because we love them, but these "Collectors" and auction high rollers don't give a rip about the cars. They're just the MacGuffin, to be bought, traded, or sold. Their hobby isn't the car, their hobby is the act of buying, selling, picking out their best Hawaiian shirt, and acting like a big wig, maybe getting on TV. IDK, maybe I'm envious of the people that can throw away disposable income I don't have, or maybe it really is ridiculous. Either way, I'm going to try to enjoy it.

of what they are bidding on.....it's all about trying to make money, which is the reason some end up ultimately losing money.....but you are correct, it's fun to watch

I won't lie, If I had tons of money to burn I would try to buy a low mileage example like this to preserve as a reference piece for future restorers. In general I much prefer a car with enough miles that driving it is no big deal (an enough that there is no hefty premium$$) but not so many miles that it's completely warn out. My 92 had 60,000 miles which seemed like a good point. For a 3rd gen, anything less than 100k was not heavily driven over the past 25+ years.

The current owner paid $34,500 for it at BJ auction on Sunday and has it for sale today - he wants $44,500
I think he's in for a huge disappointment

the only climate controlled storage I could put it in would be my living room. I'd move out all my furniture and pull her in there and watch the office reruns through the windshield. But I would need to do a cupholder mod..

I agree with Drew. The guy sobered up and after the fun of BJ was over with he realized he had goofed up. Kinda like when you wake up after a night at the casino.

The current owner bought it for the purpose of flipping it - this seems to happen all the time with these ultra low mile cars
Maybe he read all the 1LE hype here....

Well if Vanguard Motors can sell a covertible IROC with 20-30k miles for $37k, this guy should have no problem getting over $40k for a 88 mile 1LE..
..So how many years will this car be for sale for?
Maybe he should put it on Rally Road and have people buy shares of it.
Don’t know if you guys have seen that app yet but people can buy shares of all kinds of collector cars. No thirdgen yet but they do have at least one foxbody Mustang. They seem to put high values on the cars and let people buy shares. If you buy all the shares you can own the car as well.

This car has been passed around more times than a splife at the reggae fest!
I have seen this car sell on multiple occasions in the past few yrs.I wonder how many registered owners has been listed? It might be amusing, I guess 7.
