There was a car very similar to this in AZ, Same color, vert, roughly the same condition and mileage. Guy was asking 3,200. It took a really long time to sell. Not sure what it actually sold for but I think Ray is spot on at 2,500 max.

Clean it up, recover those seats and top, and you could double that price.

That's what I'd like to do with it. We want to fix up a car for my parents to have a little fun with, and not have a pile of cash wrapped up in. I'll probably paint the car. (I'm a painter at a body shop for those that dont know). It seems like a decent car to work on. Good dash pad, Everything works, including all gauges, etc. Got it bought for $1,800...but having a blizzard right now so hopefully we can get it picked up in a couple days. Car is about 2 hrs away.

And we have REALLY nice gray interior with 4th gen seats in a 1989 firebird parts car. I'm thinking swap the interior, paint the car, install a new black top, and repaint the wheel centers black

The biggest appeal to that car is the color combo. That's a classic color combo. Dark green/tan is great looking. So basically, your plan is to take a nice looking one of "supposedly only 63 Green T/A verts built in 91" car and make it into a frankenstein green w/black top & grey interior car? Hard pass for me.

Going to need a lot of expensive work to get it nice, but still sounds like a no-brainer at $1800.

Re: What's it worth? 1991 Trans Am Convertible
Well my Dad made the trip today to pick up the car. It's at a friends car dealership. Getting a new battery tomorrow and replacing the cat. (I have a takeoff from one of my old IROC's). He said it fired right up and sounded good. They drove it on the trailer. Not really any surprises, other than 2 dings in the hood.....but that's totally not a big deal. I have not seen it in person yet, but it sounds like a really solid car. I'm looking forward to digging in! Dad said its light years ahead of the GTA we bought a couple months ago and then resold. I cant wait to get the new seat covers, carpet, top and paint! It should be a super fun car for mom and dad to blast around in, and as much fun for dad and I to work on!
My dad is 78 years old, and my mom is 75. My dad is like a big kid, and has always had super cool stuff.....just not like this. In the past, he would buy my mom a new Buick Park Ave Ultra every 2 years (had to have the Ultra because it was Supercharged), had a new supercharged Bonneville SSEi, and in 2002 he bought mom a new supercharged Ford F150 Harley Davidson Super Crew.......which, BTW he raced against my '92 Z28, TPI 305, 5 speed and he BEAT ME. I think it's awesome that he will be hot rodding around in a 3rd gen......and a pretty rare bird on top of that. We will have this bird looking like a new car. 👍

That's the colour combo as my GTA so you've won my love. There was an identical vert for sale near me last fall but it was 5 speed and man it took everything I had not to buy it and get rid of my GTA. Awesome looking car

Re: What's it worth? 1991 Trans Am Convertible
That is a nice car. Tan on green with the gold lace wheels is one my favorite combinations second only to my red metallic vert. How did you determine that only 63 green cars were built out of the approximately 600 1991 TA convertibles? I could never find that data and would be interested in your source. Mine is a 5 speed car that I have owned since it was sold by Pontiac to me with 8,000 on the clock. I have only seen a few and they were either your green or my red.

Re: What's it worth? 1991 Trans Am Convertible
The guy that sold us the car said that he read somewhere that there were only 63 green verts. I have been trying to verify it, but I havent been able to find a damn thing. I have seen a few black ones, white, and bright red, too.

I dont know why, but they dont seem to bring the money the Camaro's do....the rarity doesn't seem to matter with these for some reason.... maybe someday it will???

Re: What's it worth? 1991 Trans Am Convertible
Hi dagwood and tavert91,
Nice rides.
The actual production total for 1991 RPO 45U Dark Green convertibles is 184 units. However, that includes base Firebirds and Trans Ams.
The actual production total for 1991 RPO 81U Bright Red convertibles is 582 units. However, that includes base Firebirds and Trans Ams.
Formula and GTA convertibles were not built in 1991.
The actual production breakout totals for individual colors for 1991 Trans Ams are not known.
Concerning Dark Green, 25 units of the total 184 units are unaccounted for, so we do not know the interior color, transmission, and other options of those 25 cars.
Concerning Bright Red, 53 units of the total 582 units are unaccounted for, so we do not know the interior color, transmission, and other options of those 53 cars.
However....
At a minimum, there were 87 units of Dark Green 1991 Trans Am convertibles. With Camel leather, RPO 662, and auto trans, RPO MD8, 49 units at minimum.
At a minimum, there were 205 units of Bright Red 1991 Trans Am convertibles. With Black leather, RPO 192, and auto trans, RPO MD8, 33 units at minimum.
(tavert91, I assumed that your car has a Black interior and auto transmission)
The RPO codes, which tell you how the factory built your car, can be verified on your SPID label, which dagwood has posted above.
The total coupe and convertible color production for 1991 and 1992 is known. But, other production breakouts are a bit sketchy. I explain it in my book. The link:
Additional 1991 Trans Am convertible information can be found in my book.
Spring is almost here. Get your rides ready for summer!

Got mine two years ago from Hawks. Fitment is good, price $30 each. They only came in black so you could paint them if you wanted a different color. I have already put other black accent pieces into my beige interior car so black was OK for me.
