Re: 10,988 MILE 1983 CAMARO BERLINETTA
Why couldn't it be an 84 with the STAR WARS dash? Neat I guess, but in 83 the Berlinetta didn't really stand out much from the Sport Coupe, and where it did was polarizing... From the 14" aluminum wheels that looked like they belonged on a van to the gold accents all over. I don't think I ever saw a Berlinetta with the stock center caps until well into the 2000s. It's a curiousity, a novelty, a relic of a time when GM decided to sell Camaros to the sophisticated modern working woman.

I recall the radio as a friend had one of these in cream & gold. wasn't too bad of a looking car.
After watching the Link Drew posted, youtube started this video below. that dash is kinda cool in an odd sort of way.
First time I ever really saw what it is in detail. Was that std in all 84 berlinetta's?

Yeah, but unfortunately being an 83 the Berlinetta in this thread should have the standard analog dash... So it's like any other Camaro, but with La-Z-Boy seats, gold trim, gold wheels, and funny turn signal lenses. Well, ok it probably has some other minor features, but if it were an 84 it'd at least be what people expect from a Berlinetta.

Yup,...... I remember them, I never was a fan of ANYTHING wood-grain,...... but the 'high tech' style looked a lot better.
What a beautiful car,........... and someone got it cheap. The thing looks like it's was wrapped in plastic and stored in a museum since early 84. Even the "UP/DOWN" print on the (I assume to be ) original Window switches is still readable. The drivers seat looks like it was never sat in. The only "defect" I spotted after browsing the pics was bad rear defroster wires,... could that actually be the original Brake Booster ?? White Berlinetta with Charcoal interior, T-Top, V8, & Stick,........... Very nice ride back in 83 - and (THAT ONE ) still looks just as good today. Thanx for posting !

I think it is body color with a black A/C housing & some sound deadening material on the drivers side. For sure a lot of black, but I do see body color behind everything.

"Advanced electronics." Kind of makes me laugh, but it is 35 years old. The instrument pods he mentions were a little like the controls in my '86 Cavalier. And those center caps look like they might be pretty much the same too.

84-86 were certainly unique. About as technologically advanced as possible in the era when the Atari 2600 and Commodore 64 were the pinnacle of home electronic entertainment. They are still a bit striking compared to some of the more traditional stuff. But after the 90's with digital dashes in the S-trucks, and B-bodies, and a plethora of other period digital dash cars and trucks, the digital dash thing overstayed it's welcome, and has mostly gone away. Much more advanced stuff around now kinda puts it to shame, but at the time...
